For those on here that fed corn this year and hunted 100 yards from it-Did it help you harvest a deer? I wish we would just say you can or you can't and let it be a simple rule. My club don't allow feeding during season so I have no idea if it helps with the harvest.
I would like to just see it prohibited all together because I know we had deer this year that were pulled off our property by the feeding of corn. We had no acorns on the ground and our hunters shot every thing with hair that walked on our fields this year. Either legalize it and hunt over top of it, or prohibit it and ticket for it. Can't get much simplified than that.
I can't stand a thief.

Im with you on this one . I would like to see all or none ! We do have feeding areas on our club and i did kill a doe that was most likely coming off our sweet potatoes . But one thing i have noticed since they changed the baiting law ... We dont see deer on our food plots anymore . Which ot really makes alot of since the deer can go to the feeding area eat tasty taters and not get shot at or can go to a food plot and eat grass and get shot at ! Pretty simple!

Wow, with the number of threads about corn, I would have thought that it was quite clear that the "baiting law" did not change! How many started their "on going supplemental feeding program" right before season????????? Sounds like there are a bunch of baiters instead of hunters though!

Oh it definitely changes their patterns. I have NEVER had a problem seeing multiple deer on a hunt until this year. Neighbors all around me are baiting with corn and killing the hell out of them. I can't afford to feed damn deer corn and wouldn't if I could. Just another way for the rich to stay on top. First they leased up all the land in the state and then complained because deer don't live on pine plantations and got the law changed to where they can lure them over to their property with BAIT! That's the way I see it. Poor man aint gotta chance.

I Love Corn, it helps hold deer better and I manage our deer, so responsibly it is great.

I don't think it helped me or my boy kill our deer. What I do think is that it kept several does from getting killed by my ground checking neighbors. They'll kill anything. Never saw a deer at my feeder in the day. Every deer we saw in the day were in green fields or skirting edges probably headed for cover, brousing on the way. But they fed at the feeder all night almost every night. For those who think having a feeder going will stop deer from coming to green fields in the day, that was not so where I hunt. If I had a choice, I would rather have a few acres of standing corn, but I don't have a few acres, I have one.i planted a good Greenfield and put up a feeder 250 yards away. Every situation is different but for me and my situation it worked. Saw deer 75% of our hunts or better. Let me get this straight: You have one (1) acre. You have a greenfield and a feeder 250 yards from the greenfield. If so, that is one narrow piece of property. I'm guessing you can't turn a truck around on it with out doing a 3 point turn.
