If you had sardine breath you would have done found her!

Rut still on in southern Fayette county. No kills but lots of action. Two rack deer fought this morning but I couldn't get a shot on either. I've never seen the rut last this long up here.

Its a real small piece of property, so I looked it over pretty fast (still taking my time). I couldn't find blood. This is only my second time, so maybe I'm missing something, or maybe I'm missing my target lol. But I'll look again in the morning. Pretty bummed that this may be the way I end my season, but I guess thats how it goes.

I got a 4 this evening. 3 on one side. One on the other. My goal each year is to get a buck and a doe. Wish this buck was bigger but it was biggest my camera was showing. We been playing cat and mouse for a week. It was fun. I'm kind of sad because I was going to hunt him in the morning. Going to hunt a different stand now. Not going to shoot unless it's muy grande.

Didn't see squat this afternoon hunting thinned pines 200 yards off food plot.

Ended up seeing 6 does this evening . No bucks !

Guess I gut shot her. Neighbor texted me and said they saw a deer in the field by where I hunt. Said it got up and hobbled off when they drove by, but looked real hurt. I hate I did that, I was so sure of the shot. Guess Im going to be sighting the gun back in tomorrow just to see. I guess there is a chance it will still bleed out? I will look thoroughly tomorrow either way.

Had a cool day. Got up my tree at 11:00 and didn't have any action until 2:00 and then I saw a doe slipping by. Sure enough, I see a rack following her so I grunt to stop him. He stops right behind a tree and doesn't move for a minute. When he did step out I realized that he was not quite big enough but I did get to have fun with him. When he would move I would grunt and he would get mad and start thrashing everything around him. Did that for a couple minutes (by the way ASAT works pretty good) and then I wanted to see how he would respond to my rattling bag. Did it and he took off. At 4:30 i had a spike chase off two does and then he ate in the field for a long time. I had to get down so I grunted at him and he started thrashing around and grunting back. So I did the mature buck grunt and he took off and hid in the brush.
