It requires a third reading and a vote on the floor. At this point it is skating through committee but has not yet come to full floor vote. Its obvious the committee is in favor of it.

After the third reading it will get put on the calendar for a vote. That has not happened yet.

All corn is baiting. The only legal question or not is whether you can hunt near it. Not sure what I think, in terms of making it legal. The more I hear people slobbering all over themselves about trying to figure out how to sit and watch over a corn pile or feeder and not actually hunting or not learning how to hunt the more I am against it. But, I am not and never have been a magic bullet kind of guy. I respect your opinion, but corn isn't a magic bullet.

Legalize it and end the damn argument and confusion! It's not going to affect anyone's hunting if it is legalized. It's not a magic bullet. I totally agree. I can hear the neighbor's feeder go off at 4:30 while I'm watching deer in my food plot. They never raise their heads. I'm sure at some point they will go by and eat a little, but it isn't like the feeder goes off and mature bucks rush to it. Not going to happen here. Especially when a couple of bullets get sent downrange.

It may be a couple shot at a corn pile but like stated above. A couple shots and it will be nocturnal feeding just like any other plot.
Will track deer in Marengo, Greene, Sumter, Wilcox, Perry, Hale counties.

I know my opinion does not matter but its about to ruin hunting in Alabama . I realize outlaws will be just that but a 3 buck limit will be like it doesn't exist and does will be shot on a regular basis , maybe i am wrong and the deer herds will be healthier than ever before , i guess we will see in the future. What do you think about the deer hunting in Kansas, Kentucky, Texas.... All states where it's legal to bait

whats funny to me is, how no body on here hunts over corn for whatever reason or the other, but then complain they dont see deer cause there neighbors are pouring out corn.lol
The part I dont get. And this applies to several things such as gambling, lottery, whatever. How come its gotta be illegal if you dont do it. If your against corn, dont put it out. People wanna a free nation, and then try to impose their beliefs on others. Cant really have it bot ways.

They want the Government out of their business, then want the Government to regulate something like corn. Makes me shake my head.

If a person were to be fumble fingered and drop a nilla wafer covered in peanut butter beneath his stand, could that be considered bating??

It's about what is a positive or a negative move for the resource. I highly encourage you to do some research into the benefits vs. disadvantages of baiting. Will deer disappear if baiting is legalized? No. Will some wildlife like turkeys take a hit? Probably.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

yotetrapper I keep hearing folks say this, but ultimately isnt hunting nonbeneficial to the deer, Wouldnt the same logic for baiting apply to a greenfield or hot acorn tree. How can it be different whether the feeder, is in the middle of the property were noone hunts or if I shoot the deer at the feeder, thats the whole point of hunting.

We have feeders out on the safe side of our land. We don't hunt over the feeders nor anywhere near them. we like the deer to feel safe near their food and have places to go where they aint gonna be bothered.
If they change the law we will probably put one in front of the shooting house for the kids. But we aint gonna let nobody but kids use it.
