Jon you're having a good year in those song dogs. What are you using for lure, and bait. Store bought or homemade?

I'm using some of both. I was using Mr. Williams yote gland but I have ran out of it. I'm mainly using some lure from a guy in Indiana but I am mixing some others in. I am using some store bought too from CAVENS, Fox Hollow, and Tom Miranda. I have used some of CAVENS bait and some homemade bait from a friend that lives close to me but I'm mainly using lure. I will get a list up of all the different brands and names and post it if you want me to. I imagine 90% of what I'm using right now is from the man in Indiana. He makes real good lure, it runs about the same price as the store bought lure.

I would like some info on the guy from Indiana. I use store bought and catch them, but I'm always looking to add to what I use.

I set 6 traps Friday for an otter that popped back up in one of the lakes I trap. Blocked his escape route Friday morning hoping he was still in the lake and sure enough he was in a conibear last night.

Maybe a stupid question but, whats the diff between "baits" and "lures"?

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Baits are actual meat that has been aged and tintured.

Lures are more gland based liquid.

Ok, so its a true bait. As I've posted, we've started trapping some behind the office here. And we're very much novices. Was looking thru a trapping supply catalog and it had baits or lures. They both were in jars or cans and it made me wonder. We're about to try our hands on some dirt sets for coyotes.

Gland lure is gonna be good right now because they're starting to mate.

Nothing for me this morning.

Its better to sit in a stand and think about God, then to sit in church and think about hunting.

Whew that's always fun. It's more of a shock then it is hurt... Unless it is a #280 Bridger.. Then it's a shock and hurts eek

Jon,

As has been said many times, you are really working on the coyotes. Any particular set (hole, flat, ect..) your using? In one of your other posts you mentioned setting 4 traps five feet apart. Any details you want to share?

Thanks....
