I hunted the Bone Swamp with Bain Henderson back in the mid 70s on a dog drive. Drivers were from La and had a bunch of Cats. Those dogs caught and killed 3-4 deer on the drives. Uninjured, healthy deer. Ran em to ground and killed em. I was there and I saw the dogs and the dead deer. EVERY deer that came by my stand that day was hauling arse, not one slippin or sneaking by...running like the hounds of Hell were after them.
One of those big male Cats, bit the snot out of a hunter just for staring at it. LOL That's funny, I've heard that same story from Tommy H.. I'd like to see them Catahoula's getting after em. As fast a my OMC's are I don't doubt it for a minute. Not many folks have had the pleasure of being in Bone Swamp or the gravel lake pond off the river!
