I'm not talking about smoking/dipping. I'm talking about something you grew up doing, or was instilled in you that you still do even though it doesn't make any sense anymore. I'll tell you one of mine. Some of the younger guys on here won't understand this concept but I grew up before there were ANY cell phones and pay phones were on EVERY corner. I still keep enough change in my vehicles to make a phone call should I get in a jam, eventhough I wouldn't have a clue where to even start to look for a pay phone now days.

I'm still very optimistic. I hear that it is supposed to be completely burnt out of you by old age, but I turn 55 this year and I'm still a glass half full guy. I hope it holds out. In this day and age of computers and 3D modelling, I still like writing things down and making sketches by hand. I keep a journal/log book with me all the time make notes about projects, trips, meetings, things to do lists for both business and personal in it. I have several years of them in a drawer that I refer back to regularly. I can still remember something better if I write it down than if I type it in my smart phone. I had a journal app for my phone, but went back to the pencil and paper. Even though we have all kinds of high end 3D computer software and I use it extensively at work, I still am at my best out in the field when we have an emergency situation and something needs to be rebuilt right now... I pull out my trusty sketch pad and make a repair drawing using a pencil, a straight edge and an old Hewlett-Packard calculator.

Checking the payphones and drink machines for quarters in the return change compartment. Where are you finding these pay phones? The County Jail. I have to visit my Mother-in-Law.

My dad always flushed the commode the instant he began to pee.... I adopted the practice about the age of 5 and have done it ever since. I now have to flush the commode to pee. Really makes the wife mad and says I waste water bc I have to flush twice.
And u will never see me without my sunglasses around my neck or on.
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers.......... Si Robertson

I always put my clothes for the next day beside the bed before I lay down at night. A adult habit I have now is my ccw is always with my clothes beside the bed and if I my pants on I have my ccw.
The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week. Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.
The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!

Reading a newspaper every Sunday. I may look at the internet to get some news during the week but I love my Sunday paper.
Having a cup of coffee every morning unless I'm hunting. Then I have it when I get back.

My chap stick and pocket knife is in my pocket no matter where or what I'm doing. Me too. One thing I do with no reason as to why. My left sock goes on first, then right followed by left shoe or boot, then the right. I've done it the other way just to see what the difference is, and there is none once they're on except it just doesn't feel right putting them on.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Same also, when I brush my teeth, I go in the same order every time....top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, left side (with teeth together), right side (with teeth together), front (with teeth together). Also, I have to do the same number of strokes in each spot. that number varies from brushing to brushing, but if I do 20 on the top left then I have to do 20 in every other "spot".... I know, it's crazy. I have a lot of minor OCD tendencies and most are related to symmetry in some way

I pack my gear the same every time. I can find most anything I'm looking for in my bag in the dark with my eyes closed. Being a musician as well, all of that gear is always packed the same every time. Drives my wife CRAZY!

I'm O.C.D so I have alot of habits since childhood.I could write a book on habits, double checking the doors for locked before I leave the house and at bedtime, double checking lights out when I leave,I wipe out the fridge everyday when I get home whether it needs it or not and so on....Worst habit is is that I still have to take my pants off to poop that's why I poop at home.
Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life;of whom shall I be afraid?
