It's needed in my neck of the woods.

Brilliant!!!!!!
"WFFs Sykes noted that compliance with the Snapper Check was much higher than Game Check for hunters because Snapper Check is mandatory. Sykes pointed out that the voluntary system wasnt working, proven by a participation rate of only about 3 percent."
No, say it ain't so! Government MANDATED compliance with threat of law makes people do what the government wants you to do???? Damn sounds like Obamacare!!!! Obviously, education and motivation isn't in Sykes dictionary, government force evidently is!

I think Jackson needs to be in 20 day zone too.

Well no help for my area, but I didn't really expect it either. Ya'll just keep shooting every doe you see and maybe there will be a Booner behind every tree....... Personally,I have no need to shoot every doe I see. I don't get to hunt very many days in a season and I would like the option to shoot a meat deer later in the season if I get the chance. I never understood why guys would kill more deer than they could use and then struggle to give them away.

I don't know about the doe season but I like the part about "there was insufficient data to support any changes at the present time to the turkey seasons and bag limits."

I think Jackson needs to be in 20 day zone too. Parts probably did but we couldn't reach a unanimous decision and didn't have enough supporting data to back it up.

That is absolutely laughable, according to that map I presume they think Walker and Fayette Counties have as many or more deer as anywhere in the state. Well I live close to the Walker Fayette line and have hunted in several places throughout the state and that is absurd. It should have been in the orange section for sure.
If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

The trophy hunters will eventually destroy hunting. Hunting will then be so regulated that only a few land owners will hunt only highly selected trophy animals. It will then be just like Germany where the common man doesn't hunt at all. The heritage we enjoyed as kids and just the joy of being in the woods and possibility of killing a deer, any deer, will never be enjoyed again by future generations. Spot On

This is part of the reason why I oppose the sale of our public lands. Once those are gone, all opportunity for future hunters go with it.

Isn't this a bit of a paradox, sort of like the NASA thread on the General Forum?
Public lands are seen as good for the public - hunters, birders, hikers, campers, whomever. People who just want to sit on a public spot in the woods and pray or do yoga or eat bacon-flavored Spam. A place to shoot photos of beavers or take a grandchild to catch his or her first bream and spark a lifetime of memories.
Yet a group of people clamor for small government and less agencies, bureaus and holdings including public lands. "Feds should transfer land to states!" and the states are poor they would end up selling it. And states shouldn't be holding any lands or state parks or hunting management areas so they should sell those or end the leases, too. And no national wildlife refuges that cost billions! Sell them to create jobs, asphalt, concrete, homes and industry! More ports! Barge canals on the river! Fill in those swamps to make way for a new strip mall!
Hurray! Smaller government!
Kinda sucks, picking and choosing which small government we want. Yet when some of us oppose the sale of public lands, for fear of loss of a lot of varied interests and protection/conservation of the resources, a certain segment screams that we're unpatriotic and terrible and the opposition.
