Title says it, what's the weirdest thing you've heard one gobble at?

For me, it would probably be a sneeze. My hunting buddy sneezed I thought he may have pooped his pants, but it was a turkey.

Trash beer can locator call. I was trying to get the lid off a trash can where i keep all my aluminum cans, for recycling, on my front porch. It was stuck, and when i jerked it rattled all the cans and a turkey gobbled immeadiately 100 yards in front of the house. He was dead 20 minutes later. I'm trying to get that sound out of something you can carry. When i do, it'll be on the market. LOL

First one I ever killed gobbled his absolute brains out at a low-flying helicopter that went straight over top of us. I thought he had a heart attack and died because I didn't hear from him again for 15 minutes. It would turn out that he lost his life shortly thereafter grin

A farmer trying to crank a tractor, a truck stuck in a mud hole on skyline, and an extremely loud fart are 3 of the most memorable ones for me.

A chainsaw that loggers were trying to crank a good distance off, lumber yard work whistle, had one gobblin at my kids occasional loud screams while playing on a swingset. My craziest tho would have to be a bird I was working on some public, was gobblin at everything. I hear a truck coming down the gravel road and he shuts up, guy gets out of truck and hoots, blows a crow call and of course cuts on a box call...Nothin but crickets. Guy gets back in truck and when he drives off the Tom cranks back up at the gravel popping under his tires! No doubt the ol bird had heard that routine countless times before.

anything YOU can hear, and some only he can hear, will make a turkey gobble.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Cars going over a bridge. When the sections would clank, he would gobble. Probably gobbled 40 times before he strutted right to me. Hunt might of lasted 15 minutes. On a wma heard a guy using a elk buggle. Was busting out laughing until a turkey gobbled.

A rooster "crowing", donkeys braying, helicopters flying low, exhaust notes (of all sorts, makes & models), and last year -- hunted close to a manufacturing plant & every time the "little lady" would chime in on the outside intercom system -- "FRED LINE ONE, FRED LINE OOONNEEE!" -- goobbbbllee!!! LOL I started to yell, "TOM LINE HERE, TOM LINE HERE!!" haha

Not a strange sound but a strange time. Hunt club member and bought in electronic game call and was testing it out on the camp porch one night about 10pm. He played a turkey sequence and a bird gobbled 3 times to 2 different sequences in the middle of the night.

Me and a friend from the fire station were hunting a small place in Shelby co. last year. We had one of the few good gobbling birds I heard last year burning it up in the pitch black dark. I knew he was right on the line on the edge of a cutover. The cutover was off our property and woods were ours. We were easing toward him in the dark with him gobbling every few breaths it seemed like, when all the sudden, "BOOM!!!!" from right under him. Some jackass shot him off the limb. My immediate response was to yell, "that's great, shoot him off the limb dumbass"!
No more had I gotten that out of my mouth, a bird answered about 250 yards away. Since the guy was shooting onto our property, I made the decision to go to him instead of to the other turkey. Evidently, that guy got his stuff and ran across the cutover, because I never saw him. We did fool with the other turkey for a while, but it never panned out either. That's the first time one has answered me yelling. smile
