In all of my time living down here, I have never been approached by the police when walking around with a beer in my hand anywhere on Pensacola Beach. I don't know if it was specifically allowed, but it was pretty well known that they weren't going to mess with you unless you were acting stupid. Sounds like it's not going to be like that for spring break anymore, which is fine with me.
