Nice ink. I like your choice too. I've always wanted to be 'marked' as a Christian myself but haven't ever done it because I haven't figured out what mark I wanted ...
I'm considering having my knee inked also. I had a knee replacement a month ago and the scar is horrible, 34 staple marks and a long cut. I may have a sword inked over it or I might just have the scar itself inked to celebrate it ...
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

While there are plenty of other arguments for this, you gotta make sure you look at the actual context of the verse. Context is king, my friend! Moses was referring to pagan rituals that including marking themselves for idolatry purposes. That doesn't cover pretty nice things to look at.

So I guess the Ten Commandments don't count then either. Get outta here with the semantic gymnastics.
Not to derail the thread, but the 10 commandments are part of the OT law which no one can fully keep. God's standard is way higher than ours so when He said no other gods before me, he meant not just idols, but anything we allow to take importance over Him in our lives whether that be family, work, money, etc. I don't know anyone who can make it past number 1 since we all at some point have put something ahead of God. The law was given to show us that we all are in fact sinners and do need a savior, Jesus Christ. So yes, OT law is guidelines for how Gdo wants us to live. NT is where the juice is. Thats where grace is for when we fall short of the law.

This is mine. Goes from my hip to under my armpit. Man that is awesome. Enlighten us on the phrase and on how long it took to do that and how it felt.

that looks awful, just being honest. LOL! Thanks. The picture is really blurry. The lines are actually really crisp and clear. It means rooted in Christ. Something that was personal to me. Drew the picture when I was in Africa, got it tattooed half a year after I got back. It took about 6 hours I think, I don't really remember. It wasn't a massage, but most of it didn't hurt too bad. You could definitely tell when he was going over ribs though.

Oh and Moses didnt say not to tattoo yourself, GOD did. Unbelievable God said dont, jono said its ok.

I've always wanted them on my calf
I've got one on each calf. A cobra on my left calf, unit insignia, and my Shellback (sea turtle) on the right.

Yes, it was God. Moses wrote it. Sorry I was not specific....
What scripture backs that up other than Leviticus? This debate has been going on for years and it will forever continue, but I'm curious on your point of view. didnt know another scripture was needed. GOD said don't, that settles it.period. when my mom told me to do something i didnt need to hear my dads opinion on it, i either obeyed or disobeyed. Let me flip it around, where did GOD now say it was ok? Through grace, God changed several OT teachings such as dietary, where did HE now say tatooing was ok with Him?
