Great video David, awesome!
This past Saturday the weather guys goofed the forecast.....at least for southern Chilton county they did. Supposed to start off with mixed sun/clouds and then clear off and be sunny before noon. NOT! Started off cloudy and turned into heavy overcast with some drizzle and rain. Clouds didn't begin to clear out until later in the afternoon snd by then I was packing up to head back home. Oh well, at least I did hear one bird gobble before the rain showers began. Hope you fellows faired better than me.

Well ystdy was good and bad. Messed with a bird thst wouldn't move for over two hours and then when I got tired of it and went to move a little closer....well he decided to move closer to me so we bumped him. Had a young gobbler come in that took off running when he saw a strutting jake decoy. Then to top it all off....I got on a bird ystdy afternoon. Gobbled good came in and stopped about 55-60 yds out behind some trees and looked for his hen and when he didn't see her he left.

Been a tough day yesterday. This am went and set up on the bird we messed with for 2 hours and nothing. Did hear one bird gobble way off but he didn't want to play. At the restaurant right now and then gone head back to the property where I called up the bird ystdy pm and see if we can't strike one up.

Been working on me. Ystdy pm I don't know anything I could have done differently besides have oUT a decoy. If he would have tsken three more steps i woulda killed him. The bird that I messed with ystdy morning....well if I would have sat there ten more minutes he would have been dead. Beginning to think I'm a rookie at this all over again.

Amazing how those feathered fiends can get in your head. Hang in there brother. All the close encounters just gonna make it sweeter when you finally close the deal on one!

Still reads like a great day. Just remember, if he's answering you, patience kills.

If it makes you feel any better. *hangs head*

I shot and didn't kill one at 35 steps Monday morning. Over and done with and headed back in the truck by 7:00am, empty handed.

He gobbled at 6:17am and headed to me by 6:25.

I have no idea why the bird isn't dead. Haven't missed one with that gun since I've been using it since 2008. Things happen, and we learn by all of them, if we are willing and humble enough.

Hunt safe, and stay with it. I have a good feeling about this afternoon.

God Bless,
David B.

Killed the bird I called up yesterday at 1220. I can text pics to someone so they can post pics so we can get our points. Bird weighed 19lbs had 10in beard and 1 1/8in spurs.

Next week there should be several more birds fall. Family land in Georgia is usually pretty good to me so we shall see how everything turns out. Been getting a lot of good reports from my cousin.

Awesome man. I'm itching to get on the board myself lol. My boys opening day games were rescheduled for sat, plus it's my wife's birthday..So looks like it'll be Sunday before I get to hunt...
