Wife and I were eating in El Giro in mobile a few years ago. I tasted something a little off in the salsa but kept eating it. I poured some out in the bowl and something white and round came out and I thought it was an onion that wasn't chopped enough and poked it with a chip. It started coming unrolled so I picked it up with my fingers and it was a napkin with gum rolled up inside it. It was nasty and they were obviously reusing salsa from the tables. I caused a scene but most of them couldn't speak English anyway but I have never been back. Pretty much ruined me on mexican food. Most Mexican restaurants do this! They don't think anything about it!

I got in a heated argument several years ago with the owners. I had a little bit of a Margarita left, and the waitress ask me did I want a to go cup. I replied sure, well I got to the cash register and the lady asked what's in the cup? When i told her she literally snatched it from my hand and throwed it in the trash! It was on then son ![grin grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default/grin.gif) Had co-worker find a roach in his food! He showed the manager and you know they expected him to pay for the shucks!

When Taco Bell first opened up in town years ago, they caught a young fella jackin off in the sour cream. LOL Reminds me of when I worked night shift in Montgomery. Mt partner decided he wanted to hit the Taco Bell on Zelda Rd about late in the night. Now, most places in Montgomery used work release inmates, (probably still do). He orders a nacho plate thing and pulls up. An older black guy, obviously an inmate, smiles and says, "I made this special for you", while smiling. My partner looks funny and says, "what the hell you mean special?" The guy says, " I made it extra good for you, put more meat on it." We pulled off and I was dying laughing, asking if he was going to eat it. He examined it, and then said screw it, I'm hungry, and ate it. This was before Super Troopers came out, so it's even funnier that the guy said that similar to the scene in the movie. ETA; excuse my rambling, off work so been in the whiskey a little.

If you ever went into the kitchen of just about any restaurant you would probably never eat there again. 100% True most commercial kitchens would scare you to death take it from someone who has been in tons of them, I have been in some that looked like they had not cleaned them for years especially in between and behind the cooking equipment.... But I still eat at them just not the ones I know are nasty just the ones that I know nothing about...

I have had several pretty gross encounters myself. At a McDonalds in leeds about 10 years ago, my entire family went through the drive through.. They did not give mom her Quarter Pounder, so we circled back around, got the burger and went home. Instead of being in a box, it was in a wrapper, no big deal. Mom ate half of it, sat it down and the paper came open. She then took it out of the paper to finish eating it and someone had taken a bite out of it. We didnt go back to McDonalds for years after that.
Last year at the Sonic in leeds, mom ordered a chicken sandwich on toast. When she got it, the back corner of the bread was molded so bad it looked furry. She hasnt went back there yet.
Buddy of mine found a dead worm in his burger at McDonalds a couple years ago.
My mom, dad and myself were all at WaffleHouse in leeds about 4 or 5 years ago. Watched a little rat run across the trim piece about 3/4 of the way up the wall. He ran all the way down to where the cook was, stopped, and turned around.
Same wafflehouse a few years prior, we watched a cook that was sweating like something i had never seen. He was drenched in sweat and it was dripping on the food as he prepared it. We walked out on that one and about puked.
While not disgusting, this one was pretty funny and ironic...We were at a chinese place by the k mart in trussville about 8 years ago. We were joking about different things that Chinese people ate, and we heard a loud banging noise from the kitchen. We immediately looked around and a full grown grey cat proceeded to run through the restaurant.

I worked at the McDonald's across from what is now Parkway Place in Huntsville while I was in college. The two grossest things I ever saw there :
DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE EATING OR HAVE JUST EATEN ...
- One weekend night I went to clean the men's bathroom. Someone had chit on a toilet seat then proceeded to smear it all over the seat and stall walls with their hands. I had to clean that up ... - Another weekend night I went to clean the women's bathroom. There were used tampons stuck to the walls ... Obviously several girls had taken turns going in there to make that mess ... I had to clean that up too ...
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

Chinese joint on north parkway, up by lowes in hsv. Boss went in and was eating lunch...lots of loud Chinese talk/yelling...guy comes from kitchen with a minnow net. Fishes dead goldfish/guppy outta the tank and my boss watched him take it to the kitchen, put it in a bowl and place in the fridge/freezer.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Pay attention to the glass entry door when you go in. If the entire door has finger prints from top to bottom then you know it hasn't been cleaned for some time. Pay attention to the lobby/dining area. These areas are a restaurants show room. If they make no effort to keep the space the customer see's clean imagine what the space you don't see looks like.
