I'd like to just hit a target that far.
That's the point I have always made about this subject. I'd be just as impressed if you hit a metal gong at 1000 yards as I would be if you hit a deer. I hunt some of the most pressured and skittish deer on the planet. But from 1000 yards away I couldn't spook them if I were sitting in my truck flashing the headlights and honking the horn. If you are shooting game animals at 1000 yards then you may be a fine shot but as a hunter you f#####g suck. And you can bet your ass that these shows on TV are heavily edited. You will never see the shots that blow off an animals rear leg from 750 to 1000 yards.
The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can’t fight back.
