Glad she's heading home!

Yeah it was bad. She had been told a couple months before that they were there. They showed up on a CT scan for another stone. They were sitting in the kidney. So we knew it was coming just didnt know when. I came home from work and she was passed out in the bathroom floor. I about had a panic attack myself.

Andalusia, Covington County, A...
Thank you for all the prayers and encouragement.

I am at home after a trip back to the hospital in Andalusia to retrieve my vehicle and a stop at the pharmacy to get prescriptions filled.

They took me down about 10am yesterday for the procedure and the urologist ended up having to use a laser to bust up the stone and he left a stent in the ureter (all the way from the kidney to the bladder) and it will stay in until Thursday morning when I go back to have it taken out. I spent most of yesterday with a horrible headache (which could have been a side effect of the IV antibiotic, Rocephin). While I was under general anesthesia for the procedure yesterday, I will not be when the stent comes out. The doctor said that he uses a numbing gel prior to retrieving the stent, but it still makes me nervous that I will feel more than I want to feel during the process.

I have learned a couple things during this ordeal, as well. One is that riding in an ambulance is not a very smooth ride. The second is that having an IV catheter placed in the bend of your elbow is not at all user friendly.

Dothan has become a very good place for top medical care. My nephew refers a lot of patients to specialized doctors down there. Then again, I know a guy that had invasive spinal surgery in Andalusia.

Take you a pain pill about 30 minutes before having the stent removed and it will make the process better. Glad to hear your doing well.
