That is freakin awesome. But it wouldn't have ended well for those two. It would have been like that south park episode "they're coming right for me."
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Had a couple buddy's who set up on multiple gobbling birds one morning. After a hr and a half of them not budging they slipped to the edge of the field which was property line. That's when they saw them strutting in a pen. They felt like retards for sure. Used to be one at the end of a Truck Trail at Wolf Creek WMA. He suckered in many a hunter. He was in a back yard pen.

That's when they saw them strutting in a pen. They felt like retards for sure. I did the opposite. I stepped out of the truck at a wma gate with houses across the road and a bird was gobbling hard. I mean if he gobbled once he gobbled 100 times. I was convinced it was a tame bird at the houses and I walked off and left him hammering. Those people didn't have any turkeys. It was a wild bird and I was a dummy.

A fella brought a turkey to enter in a local turkey contest in Tuscaloosa several years ago, I think it weighed like 30 pounds er so. An hour later an old black man came by to see if anyone had brought in his tame bird that was poached out of his yard!!!!!!

I know exactly where you are talking about. That's been years ago but he got me and my dad that morning. We split up on him and we finally ended up in the same spot. It did make a memory we each will never forget.

An hour later an old black man came by to see if anyone had brought in his tame bird that was poached out of his yard!!!!!! HOLY COW! Was that at the old Mack's Bait Shop in Northport? I went in there, probably 25 years ago, and saw a polaroid pic of a bird in the contest that had a jacked up fan with white tips. Everyone in the store was talking about it most likely being a tame bird.

I had a couple of pet gobblers over the past several years. When we lived out close to the Yacht Club in Tuscaloosa they fooled a few hunters.
