I would like to apologize. In no way last night when I started a thread about Mars was I trying to ruffle feathers or start any argument. My wife and kid were away for the weekend. I was sitting at home alone, watching a show on the history channel getting ready to turn in early to go turkey hunting this morning. The tv program got me thinking about the moon/mars, and I decided to start up a discussion on this discussion based forum about it. I thought that was the point of this place, I'm confused now what the point is. These were 100% legitimate thoughts of mine, that apparently are offensive to some people.
The one thing I can't understand, is the lack of the ability some people have to have a discussion. A discussion regardless of someone else's opinion even possibly being different from yours. I honestly don't know how some of you survive in the real world day to day. For instance, using the ignore button; there are some people on here who say some of the most absolutely, unthinkably, outlandish things imaginable on a very regular basis, (literally advocating murder of people for having differing views/lifestyles/politics/skin color), but I would never consider blocking them. This is mostly because I enjoy, and am not afraid of discussion. I have an open mind at all times and am always looking to learn something new. (FYI, An open mind isn't a curse word, it's just not being so set in your ways to the point of not using your brain)
Again, I'm sorry if anyone thought I was just trying to stir up an argument, I honestly wasn't. I was truly, and simply trying to have a discussion. It turned into people getting unnecessarily upset, and calling me names, which I also don't understand the need for.
I feel that overall I am widely misunderstood on here, I will admit, partially to my own doing. Early on I rode hard on a few topics, which I shouldn't have and burned a few bridges. I regret that.
I can't stand Obama or any of Obama's politics,... but equally I also can't stand anyone who honestly believes that he's a Kenyan Muslim terrorist intentionally trying to ruin the country. His politics are different than ours, he's not an ISIS supporter. I'll agree to disagree if you think his plan is to ruin the country from the top down. He just has poor plans.
I can't stand gays and transgenders,... I wish they didn't exist,... But I also can't stand people on here who say they "deserve a .22LR in the ear". You're welcomed to join the the real world, that's not how things work.
I suppose my main problem here seems to be that I guess I'm more of a pragmatist/rationalist in life. This causes me to have a tough time coming to grips with some of the absolutely lunatic things said on here by some people. There are some truly crazy things said that go completely unnoticed like they're normal, they're not normal, surely someone else notices. Unfortunately, I'm not good at biting my tongue either, I acknowledge that I need to get better at that. I will do my best
@PRB and @akbejeepin, I'm sorry that you think I am the most negative, contrary, antagonistic, condescending asshat you have ever seen. I will attempt to be better.
@mark, <and others> I'm sorry that you felt the need to block me, you probably would like me if you knew me. I'm sure we are more alike than different. I wish you would read the things I say, just as I read the things you say, so hopefully we would both learn more about the situations we discuss. If you would ever like to get together and hunt or fish at my place, I would consider it an honor.
@brent, I don't know why I wouldn't make it to June, but I'll bet the $1,000.00 unless you personally are the one cutting me off. I enjoy it here and plan to stay and contribute for as long as I have thumbs. Roll tide.
@leroybucks I'm sorry that you believe that I think I know it all, I don't. But unlike some others on here I am always willing to learn something
@DixiePatriot, I'm not apologizing to you for you're lack of music knowledge. Prince had talent, like him or not, even though he's black.
Skinny, I truly do enjoy this site. I appreciate what you do and will do my best to not have any opinions that you might not like in the future if that's what it takes. I will do my best to bite my tongue from now on anytime I disagree with anything that seems like it might be against the majority on here.
I have a half dozen real life friends on here who I have talked to today, they know I am being truthful.

I thought the banning was childish and in bad taste. It wasn't warranted. You have a different opinion than others on that thread. Nothing more.
Nobody was answering your question. After a while you should have left it alone, but it didn't require banning.

I didn't chime in on the "Mars" thread, but read it. I respected your post simply cause you didn't give in to the others, I may not have agreed, but I like someone that stands by something. Doesn't happen enough nowadays.

Asshole!!!! Jk! I see nothing wrong with us disagreeing on something. My god, if everyone I knew agreed with everything I said I'd lose my mind.

Whew, that was a long 24hours. Hopefully the closest I'll ever come to experiencing prison. It's enough to change a man. Over the last 7 months or so I guess I've become addicted to this site, didn't mean to, but it happened. I have actually been able unsubscribe from several pay message boards I've been on for 10+ years because I wasn't going to them any more. {y'all should charge $} I spend a lot of time every day on here, whether at work, on the road, at home, or in the woods. I subconsciously/habitually tried to log in about +-100 times today, and everytime I got the "banned" message it was equally disappointing, everytime.

History. We all have one on here. Perhaps some overlooked yours. Your 'apology' picked up right where you left off.

I saw the Mars thread. Wondered if the hammer was gonna fall.

Hang in there JBC. There was once a lone ranger, a voice in the wilderness, and a man among men on this site that challenged the gods of football on this site. He was known as "The Annoying Nolehole". He was banned for 24 hours to. However, the Noles went on to win the BCS National Championship that year and vengeance was his!

you are right. but you have to remember that there are still people that believe we actually went to the moon. Its kindof like when I was a kid, I would tell the other kids that there was no santa clause, even though everybody knows he's real. You're shittin' us, right?

Man, skip a thread with a totally innocuous title and see what you miss out on. I'm trying to fathom how a thread on Mars created hurt feelings and I'm drawing a blank.
