For waterfowl and/or migratory birds. Not for deer, though. Common myth.

Why do you have to be out of the tree? Just can't shoot...unless they want to say if you are in the tree with a gun you are hunting. Guess that needs clarified too. What if you are in the tree after "sunset" or before "sunris"e with a loaded or unloaded gun are you hunting? I am even more confused!

Agreed. And it will likely be a ticket that's in addition to another that the GW gets someone on.

I suspect it will be like duck hunting; you can be in blind; just don't shoot.

Which brings up the definition of hunting. If I walk around on my own property in the middle of June with a rifle, Is this considered hunting out of season? Or am I just walking around?

well if you are riding an atv while toting a weapon, you have to wear orange , even after dark. so would you have to be back at camp , or your truck 30 minutes after sunset ?

Where does it specify this?

This is nothing new? Legal hunting time has been this as long as I can remember.

Nope. Daylight hours was the legal language. This is definitely a change from the current law.

"Yea officer, I heard that late shot too. It was on the property on the other side of us. They just a bunch of outlaws, you oughta go catch him. I shot my deer about 4 PM. I was just waiting on dark so I wouldn't mess up anybody else hunting."

Bet GWs will hear some variation of that real often.

Loaded guns means you are hunting whether ducks or deer. load and unload guns at LST and watch all you want but if you have a loaded gun you are in violation.

As a rule of thumb that has always been true to myself; When you can see yellow blastin from the barrel, the hole is shot. The further you're gone from it, the better odds you've got.
