The recoil isn't particularly bad. No different than any large caliber rifle. It's heavy enough that it absorbs it's recoil very well. I had a BPS 10 that I turkey hunted with for the longest. Sold it when I crossed over to Benelli.
I had a bps 10 gauge and my sbe2 kicks harder lol
