Pics of Big Al on Redstone. These were taken Friday at about 50 feet from the gator. He's estimated to be over 12 feet long. Some say closer to 16. My son took these pics as they were talking about having never seen the thing and BOOM, there he was.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Awesome. Love seeing them here.

I loved it when people would call me at the paper and say BS to gators being here. They would try their best to argue and I'd finally give them the Refuge number to call.

Need to stock some more and some around Gville too. They might add us a hunting zone.

I'm sure some are in Guntersville. Surprised there aren't more, though, to be honest. That little population around Limestone Bay is pretty homey and contained.

An inebriated driver called into Scottsboro PD one night a few years ago to report an alligator in the road. PD shows up thinking that a recap off a big rig was what he was talking about. Low and behold, it was a real alligator.

have pictures of one that I saw on several different occasions 3 sloughs above railroad trussell on Lay, If you are familiar with that area it has a small island with a wood duck box on it and a old duck blind..I live on lay and fish it a lot but have not seen that gator in a couple of years..It was at least 9-10 ft.

Pretty cool, that they can live this far north. Reckon the populations will ever start to thrive?

It was 9 ft and was shot and killed. Water patrol showed me the picture of when it was found .

I hope not. Damn bass tournaments have already damn near ruined fishing for the average Joe. We don't need another lake 'sport'.

They were released in the mid-1970s on the refuge and have been mainly in that area since, reproducing and staying mainly there. Some have been found throughout the river system over the years but there hasn't been a 'thriving' population that expanded up and down the river to the point of being able to positively say "They're here, and here, and there, and over there, and in this creek, all doing well and growing in number."

Fortunately, as Wiley said. I like gators but wouldn't care to see them all over the river here. Limestone Bay and Wheeler are good enough for me.

We were told Big Al ruled that area, not sure if it is true but we were told he could shut down a range?

No way that the gator would halt testing on that, or any, range. Lightning within 30 miles is the only thing that I'm aware of that will shut testing down.
