I complained about the price of Wayerhouser leases in West Virginia vs Alabama. I got schooled on WV has a very short gun season. They've got tags and regionally specific bag limits. If you are an archery only hunter you can hunt for 3 months. Gun only less than a month. http://www.wvdnr.gov/hunting/Regs1516/2015-16_Hunting_Regs.pdfCould this be the future of AL hunting? Whoever schooled you was probably trying to justify Alabama sky high hunting leases and using that as an excuse because there are plenty of states with short gun seasons and their lease prices are just as high if not higher. It just looks like the West Virginia hunters have been able to keep their prices down by not paying the high leases to begin with......I do not know if it is their economy or they just have their priorities set up different than the hunters in this state but the length of the gun season is not factor when you look at the other states with similar seasons. Which States do you keep referring to? Our 52nd and 53rd states I imagine... I guess you have never heard of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky....... Considering we apparently have 47 States on it but us. I hardly find that a good comparison, kinda like the sampling and participation rate I expect to see in Game Check.
