There is a difference in a spanking and a beating.My kids got spankings when they were young and I got beatings.The beatings is why my kids got spankings.If you can't get a kids attention in 3 licks or less then you need to re-evaluate your system of punishment.There is also a huge difference in punishment and discipline.A lot of people get the two confused.If you are consistent with the discipline then the punishments are few.If those kids had bruises and cuts then she did need to be arrested.I sure wish someone woulda stepped in and done something when I was a kid.My back still has scars that look like I just survived a gravel slide.Sorry for the rant but this kinda thing really strikes a nerve with me.The problem is in cases too many times like this is that the parent or parents let something go until it either inconveniences,embarrasses or makes them mad and then they lose it on the kid when in reality if the parent were to have been doing there job first of all then it never would have reached that level.No excuse whatsoever for child abuse!
