He who holds the lease makes the rules. At the end of the day, a "good" club has to be run as a benevolent dictatorship to survive and thrive. You can take input from all members and try to accommodate the wishes of the rest of the members and good clubs do this but when it comes down to it, someone or a very small group of generally 2-3 guys have to make the call. Especially if you have 8 or more members involved. There will be factions in any group no matter how close the members are to each other. Its why big corporations have CEO's. At the end of the day, one guy has to decide what to do. He can take input from the management team but when it comes down to it, he makes the final decision. Truth be known, he's the one that has to round up new members, set dues, workdays, deal with the landowner, and ultimately the guy who has to make sure the lease is paid. For all those telling him he's an ass for wanting to reduce pressure, start your own clubs and deal with the bullcrap and you'll probably be the first to say, "I'm running this SOB and dealing with the headaches all year and I'm gonna run it my way."
