I know this has probably already been asked but here goes:
I'm planning on spraying food plots with glyphosate this coming weekend and of course, it's calling for 80% rain. So, how long does the chemical need to be on the plant before it rains to have a good kill.
What is your ratio? 2 oz per gal? Do you like to make it hotter in 2.5 oz per gal?
How many gallons per acre do you spray?
I'd love to hear thoughts on spraying gly on food plots from different people.
Thanks y'all!!

About 30 minutes.
If just grass, 2 ounces will do fine.
Mine usually winds up being about 15 GPA.

X2 on dawn or any brand. it helps dissolve the dirt and dust off leaves and helps glyphosate stick to it. You just make that up? Removed dust and dirt off the leaves??? How about it just helps increase surface tension on waxy leaf surfaces. That's what a surfactant does and dawn doesn't do what a quality non ionic surfactant plus ammonium sulfate does.

Yeah I'm going with 257 on this one.

no i did not make that up, i said dissolve dust and dirt, not remove. i worked for Scotts for many years and was taught that by their management. you are right about the waxy leaf surfaces. my neighbor has been a horticulturist for over 30 years and told me the same thing. Ummm ok

It may "also" do those things, but the reason people add surfactant of any kind is to decrease the surface tension so the water will still better and not bead.

Doesn't Round-Up have surfactant in it? It does but it never hurts to load it with more.

I always thought surfactants worked to decrease surface tension which allowed better penetration

The only time I've ever used crop oil was when spraying thick waxy leaf vegetation. And that was in the Carolinas. Sprayed a bunch of it in the Green Swamp in NC. Saw my closest helicopter crash on that trip, also.

No real problem PCP but non ionic is way better performance wise.
