Early rubs are usually a good sign that an older buck is in with the bachelor group. The early rubs I see start around OCT. and then they rub the woods down a couple of weeks before rutting around Dec 10-25.

I've seen pig sign not too far from there before, probably a direct result of those pigs that got imported into the valley several years ago. I can also show you some trail cam pics of pigs in the mountains of Jackson County. One was a huge sow coming up through a steep bluff cut just like a deer would. My youngest son killed a fat sow last year on a different property that certainly isn't flat. There were 6 of them, nose to tail coming around the ridge just like a group of deer would. I don't want to hijack the thread, but those hogs are very adaptable, and more populated than most people think. CD.

Whether pigs are up there or not I have no idea. But if you think pigs can't scale them mountain s better than deer you are mistaken.
