Makers and tea. They make a sweet tea vodka called fire fly? Tastes just like regular sweet tea to me but that sweet shucks makes me sick.

Hell I guess it'll all make you sick of you drink enough. I drank 6 or 8 beers a fifth of aristocrat and followed it up with a 32 ounce heaven hills and coke mixed half and half. I puked the next morning till I busted blood vessels in my eyes

Find you a good bourbon. Makers, Turkey, buffalo trace, bulliet and drink it with water and ice. Or get you some Tito's vodka and drink it with water and ice. Mixing with sweet tea or coke or Sprite or a thing sweet will just add unwanted calories and worsen your hangover.

You know I've seen people drink whiskey or bourbon with water and I never understood it.Does it just dilute it so its not as strong or something?

I like mixing dark liquor with Sprite. Try some makers and Sprite and see how you like it. Or knob creek. Then after a drink or two you can switch to something cheap

Atoler is on this one. Makers and Knob Creek are both good bourbons that are a bit sweet. Start with one of those. Based on what you said in the OP, I'd mix one of those with your tea, or just go with the Firefly.

good single malt scotch (benriach, balvenie, oban, talisker just to name a few). be forewarned: it is a real possibility to spend near $100 on a single malt from a region you ultimately you hate! find some friends that like what you are into (i like highland and speyside regions) and split a few bottles over time until you narrow down regions you like...much easier to choke down $20 worth of something you don't like than to be sruck with $80 worth sitting in a bottle in the cupboard undrunk!!

someone mentioned titos earlier..good stuff as well without the conjures (create hangovers) you get in bourbons, whiskies, scotches. fresca and titos is refreshing in the summer (add a splash of cranberry & squeeze of lime for a twist). a liter of titos ain't got a chance of survival at camp in the summer...especially if a fire is involved

I've got on a small batch, dark rum kick lately. It works in the summer for an after work drink better than whiskies for me for some reason. Maybe because I don't work. There's no need to cut it with anything, maybe one big fat piece of ice in the glass.
