alright guys I was just trying to see what set ups y'all have did mean for y'all to start arguing about what motor is better and which is not. It doesn't matter honestly because everyone has different opinions. Some people may think that pro drives are crap and mb are better or the other way around.

So me where more mudbuddy are sold? Tell me why no one in the marsh hardly runs them at all? I hate go devil too. I haven't stated anything but factual data that I have seen first hand. Still waiting for you to show me all these stats on prodrive reverse issues. Bring that mudbuddy to Louisiana where I hunt and and we will see just how well the mudbuddy without fpr does. I get it....your a mudbuddy fanboy. That's cool...no shame in that. Do they trash something you have no experience with though. I was simply trying to help you out and you got but hurt bcuz I said something negative about mudbuddy. Yea they all are Briggs engines...but do you know why mb has the black death 4500 and 5500 and so on? They change things. I'm not getting in a pissing match with you here. I've seen first hand mb break time and time again. I have seen FEW pd or gt have near the issues as your beloved mb. Excuse me for trying to help you out. lol who asked you for help? And what you "saw" first hand don't make it facts lol. You must not know how actual data is taken. Because you haven't "saw" pro drives and gator tails tear up means they don't? Ain't nothing you posted facts, just as me saying what I said about pro drives. I don't have a preference for any of them, never said I did. And I ain't butt hurt over nothing but your silly logic. You jump on here bashing something, claiming pro drives are better cause they don't tear up, and you ain't got a clue dude. THEY ALL TEAR UP, every one of them. How many more mud buddys have YOU fixed compared to the others? And I didn't hear you bash anything mud buddy changed on the engines. Your bashing the heads, valves and what not. Call and ask if mud buddy made those parts, hell no they didn't. They're all aftermarket mod parts put on at request and demand of customers. If you're gonna come on here spouting off a crock of crap, atleast make it halfway believable. Do you even have any mechanical ability or knowledge? Probably not.

Let me tell you something little buddy...I did have a prodrive for over two years maybe read posts before you open your mouth. So everything on mmt from people who own all boats doesn't matter right? All those people just make up bullshit? Second of all idk you and you dk me so before you tell me I have no mechanical ability is crap as well. Have you tuned 5 stages of nitrous on a 855cu in motor? Yea probably not. Have you worked on drag cars that run 4.0s on 29in tires? Yea probably not. Dont tell me what abilities i have and dont have. You just worry about working at the Yamaha production plant. You are in a part of the country that you really don't even need a Mud motor. So what you have to say really doesn't matter. Do any googling you want and the majority of what comes up about mudbuddy is negative. Not so much for pd or gt. This is a website for helping othera and I was doing a favor trying to save you or someone else some money and not buy a pos mudbuddy. Why...because I try to help people out and before I bought my prodrive I did extensive research on all the surface drives. So dont discredit my knowledge at all. Get a real mud motor then talk to me. Until then keep your mouth shut on stuff you really don't know much about and don't get on here acting all high and mighty because your best friends uncles cousin has a mudbuddy. Until you are actually around these rigs and research them to actually own one what comes out of your mouth is about as good as what comes out of my rear. Which what comes out there may be a little better.

You can never learn a person true colors over the Internet. There are three people on this sight that actually know me and seriously doubt any of them would say anything negative. I don't get on here and try to argue with anyone or claim to know the correct answer. I get on here to learn and help people when I can. A lot of what I said was more of a joke than anything else. At the end of the day it doesn't matter to me what boat anyone on here gets or likes. I know what I had and it treated me great. I know what my buddies have and have had and what worked for them. I don't have any issue with you or anyone else on this sight. As for whoever told you not to waste your time arguing with me, we'll if they have an issue with me then they themselves should let me know.

I have a 16-48 weldbilt with a 35 hp backwater long tail. It gets me where I need to go. What kind of speeds are you getting out of that setup? Is your weldbuilt slick bottom?

No, it's not slick bottom. Weldbilt said I could get one slick bottom but it would be trashed after a year because they won't put longitudinal stringers in a boat. I can get 25 and bump 26 with just me in it. With me another guy my size (250) my dog and a couple dozen dekes and hunting crap I can get about 19 shallow and 16 deep

Mud boats are awesome but good gracious they just get beat to heck and back. Being able to cruise through 1 inch of mud flats will make something eventually have to give. I miss my long tail in some regards but love the outboard. Can't go as many places but I don't hunt in LA or mobile so it ain't bad.

I put a "u" shape in a buddies boat one time. Regular Jon boat, running wide open in the timber on the white river. No boat trails because it's dry land 9/10 of the year. Got caught up in some vines and by the time I looked up we dead centered a red oak. I better your buddy wasn't very happy lol. When the white River floods that is supposed to be some of the best hunting in the US. my buddies camp is abouthe 20 mins from there.

Ten four. How does it do in super shallow water without it being a slick bottom? When I got my prodrive I was looking hard at the weldbuilts so I could run a SD during duck season and an outboard during the summer to fish. I ultimately decided for the slick bottom because of some of the places were 4in of water and the rest mud. Plus I could get the boat from prodrive built just like I wanted. Once I move back to louisiana I will be in the market again and just trying to get as much insight as I can about the weldbuilts because I know they make an awesome boat. it does surprisingly well until you get in sand or clay in less than 2 inches of water but no boat will do well in that. last year i stopped on a mud flat in logan martin that had no water on it because the water dropped about 4 inches in an hour so the mud was still soft and she pushed right across it. im sure it would do better if it was slick and had some gator glide on it but it works great for me. ive only had it stuck twice where i had to get out of the boat. once was on the coosa river. i was hunting in a cove with only one way out and the water dropped about 4 to 6 inches while i was in there and the only way out was over a half inch of water with hard packed clay sand mix under it. i slid over the first 50 feet or so and than it screeched to a halt right before i hit the river, i had to push the boat about 10 feet with a 2x6 i found on the bank. the other time, i tried to bulldoze my way through some live cat tails but i didnt realize how thick they were. before i knew it, my boat was sitting 4 inches above the water on cattail stalks. i actually didnt have to get out of the boat there but it took about 20 minutes of wide open throttle and using the motor as a lever to get the boat turned around so i could get out of there.

Sounds like a pretty nice combo there. i like it but kinda wish i had a surface drive for ease of driving.... until i have to go up a rocky creek

The surface drive I had was just like anew outboard for the most part. We would run up river to fish a hole we couldn't get in with a bass boat and won several tournaments out of it. Running 10-12 miles one way wasn't fun though but fishing holes other people couldn't get to with bass boats was nice.
