Yes, Gary's place is jam up. He won't take anything with the hide on. Must be quartered and in a cooler. He's a great Christian guy and the cleanest meat market you will go in. Be ready to talk if you go, he likes to talk. He does all mine and I've never had a problem with wild taste. That's awesome! Thank you! Gary Swords shop is all that Haybale says. He is set up much like an old timey Butcher shop. If you smell anything in His shop, either you farted, or you're smelling clorox. Like he said though, Gary doesn't skin em and gut em for you. You need to take them to him already in a cooler. That is part of how he keeps such a spotless shop. His Health Dept. score is always 98 or better. Don't plan on dropping your deer and leaving, because you will know Gary pretty well before you get out of there, you may even know Jesus, if you don't already. He stays pretty busy so it is good to call before you show up with 3 coolers full of deer. He's sells pretty good beef, pork and such too. 1-256-878-3294 I've used him for several years, and never been dissapointed.

If you hunt in Stevenson ,look up Madison's in Higdon. It's about a 20 min drive. They are the best processor I've ever used. Clean, good cuts, and are reasonable.

Hey guys, looking for a new processor. I hunt in Stevenson and am hoping I don't have to drive them all the way down to South's Finest in Pelham. That place is great. I get the bacon deer burgers and they are not the least bit gamey.
Wondering if Gary's in Albertville does a great job with the gaminess. I have never used him, but I have heard good things. First off, gamey taste has much more to do with what happens before the deer get to a processor than what the processor does with it. Second, how does he age them? I think I'd like my deer hung up and aged in a walk in cooler instead of sitting around aging. me too , if i got to quarter them up i'd just go ahead and process them .

Don't disagree on quartering them. I usually do that if I am doing an extended hunting weekend and don't want to make the drive to the processor.
