I ultimately decided for the slick bottom because of some of the places were 4in of water and the rest mud. Plus I could get the boat from prodrive built just like I wanted. Once I move back to louisiana I will be in the market again and just trying to get as much insight as I can about the weldbuilts because I know they make an awesome boat.

it does surprisingly well until you get in sand or clay in less than 2 inches of water but no boat will do well in that. last year i stopped on a mud flat in logan martin that had no water on it because the water dropped about 4 inches in an hour so the mud was still soft and she pushed right across it. im sure it would do better if it was slick and had some gator glide on it but it works great for me. ive only had it stuck twice where i had to get out of the boat. once was on the coosa river. i was hunting in a cove with only one way out and the water dropped about 4 to 6 inches while i was in there and the only way out was over a half inch of water with hard packed clay sand mix under it. i slid over the first 50 feet or so and than it screeched to a halt right before i hit the river, i had to push the boat about 10 feet with a 2x6 i found on the bank. the other time, i tried to bulldoze my way through some live cat tails but i didnt realize how thick they were. before i knew it, my boat was sitting 4 inches above the water on cattail stalks. i actually didnt have to get out of the boat there but it took about 20 minutes of wide open throttle and using the motor as a lever to get the boat turned around so i could get out of there.

Yeah c’mon. Daniel White
