I have never driven a Longtail but have heard they are difficult to drive. The surface drive I had was just like anew outboard for the most part. We would run up river to fish a hole we couldn't get in with a bass boat and won several tournaments out of it. Running 10-12 miles one way wasn't fun though but fishing holes other people couldn't get to with bass boats was nice.

its not that bad, just cant turn as sharp and you get a little tiller torque but i can drive it sitting down. i like the fact that i have instant torque to get me out of sticky situations and i can use the motor like a lever to spin the boat around and a longtail is much better in hard bottom. they both have their pros and cons. i do have the cadillac of longtails though
