Have used a low profile leupold shotgun scope 1-4 power that was awesome! Great view when you have the luxury of screwing it up to full power and watching that red head shake the nates off. Kept it one one power otherwise and it never caused any problem, very quick on target and easy to shoot with both eyes open.Also, the very best way to pattern.

Beads are great until you start seeing 3 of them.
I tested the patterns on a shotgun for dove hunting a few weeks ago. I thought the gun was shooting left until the third shot; then a realized I was aiming with the wrong bead.
Use a bead or a fiber optic if you can see it. I use a holo sight since I can't. Try focusing on the target, not the bead when wing shooting; works for my imperfect eyes. YMMV

YMMV Oh, I was talking entirely about shooting at stationary targets. In wingshooting I have always just pointed the gun and don't look at the bead at all. I have honestly surprised myself at how effective I've been shooting doves and clays lately. The key to wingshooting is to have a gun that fits properly and shoots where you are looking. I don't recommend just pointing a turkey gun; it needs to be aimed like a rifle. Patterns are too small with tight turkey chokes, and it seems like most of the time I'm in an awkward position when the turkey shows up. When I was testing the dove gun I was sitting in a chair and testing dove loads for pattern density. I saw 3 beads and thought the one on the right was the real one; turned out the one on the left was the correct one. It didn't make any difference; I was just evaluating the pattern density. I would go red dot. There's one that is only about 100 clams that lasted through me abusing my defense scattergun for years. I finally broke it when I ran out of the boat with it to shoot a bobcat that was hanging around in the marina killing all the local cats and I dropped it right on the concrete - toe hook on the sidewalk coming off the dock and the entire weight of the gun fell on it and the entire weight of yours trully went right on it. The dot still worked but it didn't hold zero. I sent it back and they sent me a new one.
Mueller speed shot. I can't recommend it enough.

I bought the Bushnell TRS-25. Also got a Tru Glo birdbuster on it. Beauty of that B-Square mount is you can drop down and use bead if you want. Dark pushed me but I ran some slugs through it this evening. It may see duty as my close-in brush deer gun too. Also shot a lead 5 turkey load through it that looked pretty good.
