I would go red dot. There's one that is only about 100 clams that lasted through me abusing my defense scattergun for years. I finally broke it when I ran out of the boat with it to shoot a bobcat that was hanging around in the marina killing all the local cats and I dropped it right on the concrete - toe hook on the sidewalk coming off the dock and the entire weight of the gun fell on it and the entire weight of yours trully went right on it. The dot still worked but it didn't hold zero. I sent it back and they sent me a new one.
Mueller speed shot. I can't recommend it enough.
