We planted this past weekend. Had really good moisture. Was actually a little damp when we started. Hope it rains in the next couple weeks to keep it going.

We're afraid we may miss planting our winter wheat crop at this point. Guys this ones as bad as we've ever had. At least plots are for pleasure. We will not attempt to plant our wheat until we get 1-2" of rain. Anything less than that is a big risk with swelling but no sprouting.

I noticed today the land over here is "fracturing" with fissures big enough to stick you palm in. I've never seen that before.

Not worried about planting until I see some rain. Going to lime some fields tomorrow but that's about it. Might not get seed in the ground till Nov.

Most of the people commenting are from south of Bham. I'm worried some of us NA guys may not be able to plant at all. I haven't even bought seed yet. No rain for 15 days gets us to Oct. 21. It's been warm, but if it starts to cool off before we get any rain, soil temp is gonna drop. Also, I'd hate to get everything in the ground, have it sprout, and then an early frost around Nov. 1 kill it all.

We've planted before and had seed lay there a month and when rain came everything came up and did really good! No worries here as long as rain hits by first week of November

No doubt for plots "dusting" it in will be fine. Might as well at this point.
