What is everyone's plans for food plots this year, for those that have not planted yet?

We are typically planting this weekend and next. Obviously the drought is hindering that. We are waiting for a good rain, break the soil and see how the moisture levels hold and then plant accordingly.

With no rain in sight, what do you do? If it doesn't rain until middle November whats the gameplan?

My gameplan is to find a water hole.

I went ahead and planted 20 acres this past weekend.

I'll plant another 10 acres this weekend.

I'm hoping for the best.

We are spreading lime and fertilizer this weekend. Possibly seeding next weekend depending on the forecast.

We are waiting for rain in the forecast. None for next 10 days so we will wait. I've planted early November with no problems.

I saw a local TV weather report that said central Alabama wouldn't see it's next chance until around October 18th.

I usually like to have it in the ground by the start of bow season.

I will just have to plant according to God's timeframe.

Replant the ones we planted two weeks ago. Almost a guarantee. We had good moisture in the forecast for that Sunday evening but it didn't materialize.

Won't plant again until AFTER we have good soil moisture (didn't when we planted) AND have rain in the forecast. May be Thanksgiving when we do, but so be it.

We planted this past weekend in hopes that Matthew would turn more to the west and bring us a few bands of rain. But, just in case it doesn't we overseeded pretty heavy on every plot to allow for the bird consumption and possible loss of seeds due to heat.

Gonna keep waiting until we get a high chance of a weather pattern change. There's still plenty of time to plant....

We planted this past weekend but we bushhog over the seed and dont disc because our soil is too rocky...doesn't get affected as bad by the lack of rain...but we need a good soaking

No need to waste seed and fertilizer. I have planted in dust before, and I won't do it this time. No big hurry, if I don't hunt over a green field before the middle of Dec then that will have to do.

I planted a day before gun season one year. No need in putting out seed if it won't rain.

It be's that way sometimes.

I've got the disc hooked up, can't even break ground without a little rain.
