PRB OP Aldeer Sponsor Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 4,273 Marshall County	I have an elderly aunt and uncle who live on Merrit Island, on the east coast of Florida, just west of Cape Canaveral. I just found out that they refused to evacuate inland today, and are at home tonight. The water was turned off to their town at 6pm and they can't be convinced to leave. They have hurricane measures on their home but, because of their location, storm surge and flooding is my biggest concern. They are only a few miles from the coast and are literally surrounded by water. If you get a chance, send one up for them tonight. I'm worried they could be in real trouble. -------------------

Set in their ways, I suppose. Long story short, they evacuated several years ago and were stuck in traffic for hours, for a storm that turned out to be minimal. Aunt said she wasn't doing it again and if it was her time, then that's the way it would be, but she wasn't leaving home. -------------------

I think that part of the coast is the worst place to be in my opinion and forward my message to em if you will. This storm is just now hitting the warm water of the gulf stream and there's no telling what it could do to that area.
