If I have an iPhone (that I carry into the woods with me), is it sufficient that my hunting license is stored in the Passbook app and my harvest record is the Game Check app?

With the above, there's no reason to have to keep up with the paper license anymore is there? Or is carrying around that slip of paper still an official requirement?

I have thought the same thing about that this year. Me though to play it safe will still keep a copy of my license & harvest report in my bag this year.

I'd call and ask a GW.

I feel like I was told the passbook is good for license, but you still need paper harvest record and pen. Didn't make any sense, but I think that is the case.

Call Montgomery for confirmation, but from what I've been told, passbook at the game check app are sufficient for deer season.

DCNR - 334-242-3467 and ask for Law Enforcement Section, and talk with them.

About the harvest record, go to 7:00 of the video. Go to 11:00 and you won't need the paper license.

You won't need either paper version when the app is used. But I'm still going to have mine.

Dan thanks for posting that. If you go to 11:20, Sykes directly addresses the OP's question. The answer is Cloud/Phone Storage of license is OK per the video.

Sure thing. One other note, I just updated my i-phone to version 10 OS. The "passbook" is now called "wallet".

Last year when I got checked duck hunting all my info was on my phone. Just handed it to the man and let him go through it all.

You're welcome. The video came off the ALDNR website.

I'll keep the paper version. I'm not handing over my phone without a warrant.

Certainly with you there. I will show him but the phone isn't leaving my hand.

I use Drive as a last ditch backup. I have been known to lose my license and WMA Map permit.

I don't mind posting it. Easier to call and get it from The Man instead of assumptions or "I think, but ..." responses.

All of the District offices contact info, and for Mungumry, are here for biologists, game wardens, etc.:

They send you an email when you buy your license and you download it from there.
