Brooks/Hines Lake, as 10gauge mentioned, gives up some BIG fish every year. Most of the state owned "county" lakes, at least the ones down here, are well maintained and managed. Crenshaw County Lake and Monroe County Lake also give up some bigguns. Lake Jackson in Florala, Lake Eufala, and Lake Seminole are all hawgmakers, too, as are Hurricane, Bear, and a couple others in the Blackwater State Forest in FL. I know of another locally where a friend and I caught 75-80 fish from 9am-4pm one day...from 2.5 to 9.5 lbs...all were released except one that was 9lb 1oz and a couple others....but I ain't sayin' the name of that lake out loud...it's my "secret" spot!
Well behaved women never make history.~ Out back Quit laughing...I think I broke something.
Fifteen is my limit on Schnitzen-Gruben, Baby...
I have OCD and ADD, so everything has to be perfect, but only for a minute.

I've never had much luck fishing it other than catfish, but did see a young boy fishing at the boat launch in the campground last summer catch 5 or 6 in about 30 minutes. Wasn't much size to them, but he was catching them. There was a large fish kill in Lake Shelby due to Hurricane Ivan or Katrina a few years ago. Saltwater from the gulf flushed all the fresh/brackish water from the lake and killed all the freshwater fish in the lake.
