I'm in the lawn&landscape business, so by default I work less the farther into the winter we get. This is handy because I enjoy hunting. Sadly, I prefer fishing, especially offshore, but I now stay to busy during Spring, Summer and early Fall to go much at all.

Back before I retired I was getting two days off a month and could accrue time up to 480 hours. Most people wanted off in the summers so it was easy for me to take off as much time in January as I wanted. By the time the season ended, I was ready to go back to work.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

On the farm we bust our tails in the fall to get next years rice ground ready to plant.(3-4 more days and everything is done). Nothing to do all winter on the farm. My job with the sheriffs office, I work 7&7 and I get 2 weeks vacation. If I take it all at one time I get 5 weeks off. If I put a week in between I get 6 weeks off. Also with all the ground ready this time of year, that less we have to do in the spring so more turkey hunting time.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

Our work is usually pretty slow during hunting season (oil field work) and my boss understands that I will hunt regardless either way. He lets me pretty much make my own schedule during hunting season as long as I handle my side of things at work first. Even then, he knows that my truck is always packed and that I am apt to head Northbound at any given moment. what you gonna do when he calls your bluff and fires your azz?
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

Most of my work use to run out around the end of Nov. or the first week of Dec. when capital funds ran out. Wouldn't pick back up till 2nd week of Jan. when new years PO #s would come good. Last year extra money came up and we worked pretty much straight through. Hopefully this year money runs out on schedule.
What you do today, you have to sleep with tonight.

I usually take the first 2 weeks of Nov. off to hunt the rut... ...That will leave me with a couple days of sick leave just in case... ... I'm a Model Employee in case you didn't know it...
Did you know that Beer Nutz are over a Dollar...and Deer Nutz are under a Buck...

My schedule is similar to a firefighter, except I work every 4th day. So, I work 8 days a month. Plus I accrue time off. I've got about 200 hours saved right now. Come on January!
