One of the things I love about fall is the BBQ joints start serving Brunswick stew. I had my first of the fall yesterday from Simmons in Gville. It was good. Lawlers in Hampton Cove got some good too. Dunno if they serving it yet but the stew I got from them last year was some of best I've had.

I grew up eating Brunswick stew at Big Bob Gibson's BBQ in Decatur. Always have enjoyed trying it at different places.

I'll have to try it at Lawlers. (Love their sides, by the way.) Whitts & Big Bobs makes a pretty good stew.

I tried Moe's BBQ's stew today. Doesn't measure up to Lawler's. Moe's is new to Gville and I enjoyed it though. Big screen TVs, good BBQ and homemade tater chips.

Love me some "homemade" Brunswick stew the old cheap way throwing canned stuff together
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

I bet I have had it at more than 3/4 of the places that have it in the northern 2 tiers of Alabama counties. I like most of it. Some is just to thin. But David Gibson on Bob Wallace had some that was some count. I hate they closed. Whitts is good too. When It gets cold I make a big pot and freeze it in freezer bags, and eat on it all winter. I found one that got lost in the freezer a couple of weeks ago and got a nice surprise. It really ain't hard to make! You can make it to your taste!

I bet I have had it at more than 3/4 of the places that have it in the northern 2 tiers of Alabama counties. I like most of it. Some is just to thin. I pretty much try a bowl just about anywhere I go, unless they don't have it, to see how they make it. I prefer the thicker, also, instead of the thin soup which IMO is more akin to vegetable soup with a boneless yard bird tossed in.

Just had some for lunch today at OK Corral in Muscle Shoals. They have the best I've tried in my opinion.
