Anyway, a round sent downrange is enough of a jolt on it's own.

When I'm at the gun range, I don't tap my magazines against an imaginary helmet to seat the rounds to the mag rear, either.

Some guys do it to be cool or show they've carried over some kind of "PTSD-Lite" ailment or habit from their existent (or non-existent) military days. rolleyes

I always tap on the scope after making adjustments. Just a habit I picked when I was much younger seeing my dad do it.
