I'm not just a liar. I'm a dipshit too. It's a dang button buck. Didn't mean for that to happen. They were traveling the trail and had to decide quick. That's my antlerless deer for the year with rifle. Only way I'll shoot another antlerless is with bow or muzzleloader pistol. It took the shine off a little but I'm still happy to have a deer. Will make some fine eating. First morning on this new property. It's a gorgeous plantation with hay fields and fingers of woods along the creeks and ditches. First time I ever set foot on it was a week ago with a quick walk through. Happened to me many times. That's how I came up with the name super spike. Lol. It always happened on public land so I didn't worry much about it.

As I understand, it hasn't been hunted in 10 years. Owner just took a shine to my bro.

Deer wifes grandad shot wasn't a 130. May have been 115 on a good day. Was a good 2.5 yr old. Old eyes got the best of him.Guess he misjudged him. I shot a monster this am....an oak buck...had a big cull come out that's 4.5 years old. I decided I was going to shoot him after I let him get onto a skinny shoo5ing lane we call the dim road. He got into the he trees but I still had openings through the trees. I let him clear a oak aboutree 6in in diameter he hit what I thought was the next opening and I squeezed off just to see a 3in diameter oak slowly fall over. Deer jumped back looked at tree and ran towards me then cut back into the woods. He was about 300 yards when I squeezed off on him. I have been hunt 20+ years and have never shot a damn tree or hit a branch. He was only a 4pt. Bout 12in wide with 10in g2s and pretty massive and weigh probably 190. God was on his side today...lol just glad it wasnt the 150s 10 point that I'm hunting I would have been pissed. Keep hunting and I guarantee that won't be the last limb you shoot, good luck getting the 10

Well I'm a liar but y'all knew that. Doe down. Congrats! I got one too from the ground in the WMA. 8 years old. She had a food impaction under her chin. Looked like a big ole cyst or tumor but the biologist cut it open and nothing but acorns in there. The second doe in the group ran over my feet, literally. The one I shot ran by at ten feet and smelled me and did this crazy sliding 180 degree turn and ran back the way she came but she stopped in sight. That's the first kill for my ar-47. She was drt and never even twitched or flinched once I fired. Bait57 called it a day - I was willing to field strip her and go back to hunting with this cool weather blowing in. It was blowing too like all get out. Had to watch where I walked to stray out from under really big trees. The call of NNW wind was wrong - it blew from all directions on the ridge tops and in the bottoms.

Good job on getting that old girl.

Went to Bankhead this morning. Went to a little honey hole I found three yrs ago, apparently it's a nursery this yr. Saw 5 different spikes, 2 does with fawns. Only heard 5-6 shots and none were within a mile. Now at home on the couch for a nappy nap.

Congrats Geno
It was a rough 5 days behind the glowing beast last week so I stayed home, hopefully I will get after them tomorrow.
But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?
