Normal, yes. Everyone's different.
I think one thing that helps is hunting as much as possible for whatever - deer, hogs, coyotes, etc. You'll still get excited, but the more you get dialed in to being quiet, stalking, sitting, focusing on the shot, placement, etc., it helps. And, breathing when you get excited! Good luck, SC53!
Solid advice there.. i get the shakes but more so after the shot. Its like its pinned up and it all comes out at once especially when you know you hit em good

All business before shot. After shot I have to tighten harness cause my knees start shaking so bad Same here. I'm stone solid until after the shot, then I get the shakes. Same exact thing with me, but I had to learn to control it. Here's how I did just that: Several years ago (maybe 8 or 9) I missed a shooter buck because I was shaking. I got really mad at myself, and thought through all the work that I put into getting myself in the position to kill a good buck (we all know how much effort it takes). I mentally told myself right then that I would NEVER miss another deer due to shaking in the stand. And I haven't. For me, it's a mind-over-matter type thing. Now don't get me wrong, my heart rate is on overdrive, and there have been several times where I stood stock still with bucks very close to me where I expected to see my beating heart down on the ground with the deer because it exploded out of my chest! But as far as shaking and not being able to take a shot, no that doesn't happen anymore. What DOES happen, just like chiller and toothdoc said, is after I've shot a good buck I've got to sit down (or else I may fall out of the stand!). Nothing wrong with that either. Matter of fact, every one of the racked bucks I've killed in the last several years has caused me to get weak in the knee's after they were down. It's at that moment I take the time to thank God for all He does in blessing me while I am deer hunting (and I do that again once I lay my hands on the buck).
Jesus... I hope you know Him personally like I do.

I've deer hunted for the past 55 years (I'm 69) and still get excited just seeing a deer in the woods during open season. I shot a large doe this weekend in Michigan, and while I didn't "shake", I was both excited and pleased with a well executed shot. I'll continue to hunt deer as long as I'm physically able, and hope one of my four grandkids want to come with me some day.

Practice makes perfect....almost. Just keep at it and the more encounters you have with them the more you will settle down. The adrenaline rush is why we do it.
Agreed ... You can help it some by going outside of deer season, sitting in stand and just watching them. Go thru all the motions as if it was deer season all the way to putting the crosshairs on it. Gets you more used to them being there, and maybe you will see a yote or something to pop.

I'm better at staying somewhat calm these days but back when I first started bowhunting I have shaken my arrow off the rest at full draw and everywhere in between. The adrenalin rush is awesome! When I completely lose that feeling I'll probably quit hunting.

I have been almost adrenaline free when gun hunting for decades. I did say almost. I was hunting a huge buck back 2000 er so, a buck came out to my left when I was looking right and got by my shooting zone. I about had a come apart thinking it was THE buck. Turns out a second look it was not. Surprised me getting that shook.
I always get a lil nervous bowhunting when a good buck is not quite in THE spot to shoot.
And I always get nervous when a gobbler is coming in.
I had to slap my wife on the back to make her breathe on a badass old gobbler we were hunting one morning. She was hypervenelating to beat hail, I thought she was going to fall out. She did end up killing that bird.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

It all depends on the deer for me. If he doesn't get my adrenaline going I know he isn't what I'm after.
If I ever get to the point where no deer gives me that feeling, I'll hang it up.

Funny thing is I shot 2 coyotes last year and didn't get the shakes at all. Now they came in very fast and I don't think I had time to think about it, just got on them and blasted them. I honestly think it's an Anticipation/Nerves vs. RightThere-ShootItNow deal for a lot of folks. You see a buck/deer a long way off and the chit hits the fan: you watch, get ready, flip out, shake, etc. But you have a deer/buck walk in almost immediately and you merely react without getting crazy. Have been in both situations. I still think hunting as much as possible and killing as much as possible can help. Hogs, predators, does if you can shoot does, whatever.

I hope I will always feel that nervousness or adrenaline rush on a good buck or gobbler. I don't get nervous, but I do get excited when any deer shows up. If it ever stops i might be done...
