Let's get a trip together, 6 hr, 8 hr, overnight, whatever.

I would be interested. I am pretty much game for any length of time we decide.

I tried this before. Maybe you will have better luck than me.

We have had an aldeer trip twice before. Both times we have done it we had a great time catching some fish and shooting the breeze. Robert you might want to make sure Hottdogg24 sees this he is always up for a deep sea trip and he is good people. I hope this works out cause it will be a solid blast to hang with aldeer folks!

Just let me know what you guys want to do and how long you want to do it. With reading on here over the past year I guess you want biggens and lots of them. So I would say you guys would want a 12 hour. The best time to go and the best time for me to give any price break will be in May. At this time all Saturdays are booked on the Fairwater but the bollweevil has some Sats still open. Let me know what you guys think and a date we can all agree on we will need at least 6. PM for a price per person. As long as we can get 6 I can make it work the more people we get the better the price will be as long as its not on saturday the multi-passenger is booked.

Ok according to Fairwater we need to try and plan this for sometime in May. Which is a good thing for me cause I get extra paycheck in April. Of course if you guys want to go sooner let me know.

When does snapper season open?

June 1st. If we go on a 12 hour most likely the red snapper will not be a huge impact on your catch expecally if we fish for amberjack and grouper. There will be plenty of white snapper, vermillions and triggers to fill the spaces in the box.

all I ask is we dont do a 14 hour boat ride to limit out in the last 30 mins and head back. I would rather do a grouper, amberjack, with a mix of others than go after snapper. Fairwater, do you troll to and from sites or just bottomfish?

What is the max number of people on the boat to fish and what is the rates? This is stuff we need to know so people can figure.

My wife has been trying to figure out a good birthday present for me (which just happens to be in May) so I think I'll suggest a fishing trip.

Definantly need to know this info. I agree with Hottdogg on the 14 hr boat ride thing. Been there done that!! Care not to do that again.

Ok here it goes lets try May 9th or 16th 12 hour on the Bollweevil I will need 6 people confirmed and its 6 people max on the boat. $280 per person. Your deck hands tip and fish cleaning is included. This is how it will break down. $1400 for the boat (aldeer special) thats $100 off my already low offseason price of $1500. When June 1st gets here this trip will be $1800. Ok 1400 divided by 6 is 233.33 per. Deck hands tip should be around $210, thats $35 per. We should catch between 200 and 300 lbs of fish at .30 per pount that will be between $60 and $90 for fish cleaning. If we don't catch crap I will give fish cleaning money back so you can go get drunk or go buy fish to prove to your wife that you went. Lets go with the low end of $60 thats $10 per. So we are at 233 + 35 +10 = 278 just to make it easy we will round up to $280 per person. This price covers 200 pounds of fish cleaning when we catch more you may have to coff up a few more dollars to the mate for fish cleaning. Since this is a walk on type deal and the first one that I have done online I will need to get deposits from everyone at $140 per person. Just send me a check and I will not cash it until after the trip. If I have to cancel or move the trip due to weather I will send your check back and we will try this all over again.

we will ride about 2 hours catch bait ride another hour and start fishing. expect a 3 hour ride home. My boat is no speed demon. We will fish deep water for about 5 hours most of the time all you can stand. We will troll going out and in.

Enough for everyone to bring there own or do we need to bring one for drinks and a couple for food to save room? How bid is the bowevil? Just want to know all the things that matter.

We use small white snapper, small vermillions, and small red snapper. Na just kidding if we used any of that it would be ILLEGAL :rolleyes: .

The Bollweevil is 38 feet long with a 12 x 12 deck space for fishing.

I have one drink cooler on the boat. Its like 80 quarts. we dont need 6 different coolers on board so maybe one more decent sized one for beer and mine for soft drinks and water. The big green egg on there so someone bring a boston butt we will have that for lunch and on the way home we will eat fish.

Aldeer's Fish Tourney at Guntersville is May 16th. That fact might make a difference in which date ya'll choose.

Personally speaking, I can afford $300 down here easier. I would love to go to the Big G, but...1 day to drive each way (2 days off work to be there Sat and Sun), lodging, gas, etc.

Guntersville is out of my budget. Wish it weren't.

Yeah they considered it for all of 5 minutes.....LOL then made the dicison to keep it at Guntersville. Its all good though.


Ok on the deep sea trip I am good with the 16th as well. The price is resonable enough at around $280 each. I may have one more interested in going. That would be my brother. Hottdogg has met him before and has deep sea fished with him before as well. If its ok with yall guys I will ask him if he wants to go.

Robert that is the way I read it as well. As far as my brother going along he will go if we need one more and cant fill it. Im sure somebody else on Aldeer would like to go along. im pumped, last trip i went on was around the first of the year out of Venice,la for tuna on the midnight lump, No Tuna! Just alot of Bonitas and Sharks. BIG ONES. I always catch more leaving from Orange Beach than anywhere. Thats just me though. Fairwater, you think we might find some AJ's?

I ask because i never seem to get on any aj's when we go, I have left seven times from orange beach no aj's daulphin island twice, no aj's, even Venice,La once just damn sharks. I guess its wishfull thinking.lol I'm sending my check on saturday.

All I can say is weather permitting we are going to fish for them. The NMFS raised the size limit on us again to 30 inches fork length. May is our best month to catch them.

I hope we have a good day usually if we can get some decent weather everything works out for the best. Just plan to have a good time and what we catch is what we catch. Its all just fishing, we have good days, decent days, and every once and a while we have bad days. Im usually more tired on the bad ones because I have tried everything I know to catch fish.
