They must have had that buck on one of those yard cables people use for dogs so they can run back and forth about 30 yards. That's the only way I can figure that 160 kept trying to sneaky sneak past that ladder stand.

And I heard something about 3:15. It was him. 50 yards in front but to my right a little bit. He got behind some stuff so I didn't take the shot and he disappeared. 5 minutes later he somehow snuck within 20 yards straight below me. ( can't see bc the ladder is wrapped with a blind around it. ) he sees me and takes off into the bottom. He gone. I'm sick. Texting dad and telling him about I seen a monster. And blah blah blah. Sat the phone down just kept lookin along and at 3:39 I caught movement about 60 yards into the bottom and it was him trying his best to sneak through all wearily and sneaky. I yelled at him and his shoulder had limbs in front of it so I had to take the lethal neck shot!! 1. He at least has the correct grammar to tell a hunting story. 2. I hate that some limbs forced him to take that lethal neck shot. That's gonna cost a few more dollars at the taxidermist. 3. Why yell at him when his shoulder is behind limbs? 4. Anyone else think he saw him 3 times because the "big pen" wouldn't let him get farther than 60 yards?5. Wearily? 6. I love this place.

Sonofabitch. What goes through some folks minds? I honestly don't understand the point of lying, especially to group of people you have never met that honestly don't give a rat's ass where you killed it as long as it was legal and you're honest. What a f-stick.

This guy posted on the bow forum a few weeks back saying he had shot an 8pt on a food plot on Perdido WMA. I asked if he had found him and then nuthin. A good friend of mine said he's already had his ass handed to him on the PFF. I figured this was probably gonna be BS from the get go. It really makes me some kind of mad to see people do this.

During my tenure at Academy, I attended a lot of hunts hosted by manufacturers like Strike King and Mossy Oak. The Mossy Oak boys do it right and still hunt the way I like to hunt. But I was totally turned off by a hunt hosted by StealthCam at the Nooner Ranch in Hondo, TX. Sammy Nooner is the first deer breeder to pay over $1Million for a breeder buck. I asked ahead of time and was told that portions of the ranch were free range and other portions high fenced. So I accepted. Turned out to be all high fence. Some "hunting" enclosures were as small at 100 acres. Total canned hunt in my opinion. I did the gracious guest routine and hung around camp, but no way was I shooting anybody's domesticated livestock under the guise of hunting. One of the invitees shot a 170" buck and StealthCam gladly paid the $9,600 trophy fee. A group of 180-class bucks were feeding behind the lodge while Sammy and I sat on the back porch. He said, "Don't you want to kill a buck like that? You are welcome to." I replied, "Yes sir I do want to kill a buck like that, but only if it is under free range fair chase conditions." To this day I have no appetite for Outdoor Channel shows built around this kind of "hunt."

I might even name it cow or something.

1st i would like to say congrats on a great buck, But i was asked by the owners which are not ALDEER members to let everyone know that this deer was killed INSIDE the preserve! They do not want to mislead anyone. They offer great hunts inside and also on the free range. But on the free range you should expect to be hunting average alabama whitetail. They have had calls because of this post with people asking ab free range hunts & is this the quality of deer they offer. They would like for everyone to know the truth! Wow. You don't see me sitting here screaming free range or inside of a high fence. This isn't a debate on where my deer was killed. It's how much it scores we are discussing. But I sure do appreciate you bashing my biggest kill ever!! Son don't come on here lying about your BS trophy kill. This isn't pee wees playhouse. Take that shucks somewhere else. Is too.
