I ran up on some last year and know a guy that killed a lot of deer/pigs in the delta.

You are gonna try it this Saturday? I didn't think you could hunt them until gun season opened for deer, or is that only below I65?

Zone A & B state:
FERAL HOG: Open during any other wildlife management area season, using weapons and ammunition approved for those hunts.
I take that to mean that you can use the ammunition for the hunts that are in season, in which case means you are ok if you are hunting with Shotguns using No. 4 shot or smaller, .22 caliber or smaller rimfire firearms, and muzzle loading rifles .40 caliber or smaller or rifles operated by air. I will try and call tommorrow to make sure though.

I will try and call tommorrow to make sure though. This is right. If the firearm is legal to shoot a squirrel with, then its legal to shoot a hog with. I've stalked and killed several in the delta with a .22, but it can be dangerous. Need to shoot him in the ear or thru the eye. Don't even consider a shotgun with scatter shot. You'll just wound them up.

We were in the lower delta, launched in Bayou Sara and checked a few spots between there and Gravine. There's tons of signs anywhere you stop. Walked up on 4 hogs, I busted one in the head and he dropped like a ton of bricks so I focused on another one.....then that zombie sumbitch jumped up, ran in circles and took off! I was mad at myself about it because I knew better but I will get him next time. Shoot me a PM sometime and maybe we can get out and get some pork.
