I got stopped at the same road block. There was probably 4 GW and a couple of police. They asked if we was hunting and to see our licenses. What bs. This is the problem when people want more laws. Just let me go about my business. They stopping everyone, or just fellers in trucks dressed in camo? Sounds like might be some profiling going on. Everyone, but what I saw they were targeting those with trailers and utv's. We we're just in a truck and once he saw camo he asked for hunting license. I don't think anything can happen since we weren't hunting. The were friendly and all but this is just way over the top. If this happens a good bit ill just quit hunting that area.

[/quote] Let me get this straight: This road block was this year. It included other agencies. They asked if you had been hunting BEFORE they asked for a license (not that it matters). Now Hayman's dad was just going down the road. I will try my best to lure them into a ticket. Like, "Do you have a hunting license?" "Nope!" Even realizing going to court will be costly and I will be found guilty on the first trial.

Bbdown (aka Rock), you're gone again. In case you wonder why you keep getting banned, let me spell it out for you: You had your wife get on here and make a post threatening to sue this site. There's no forgiveness or coming back from that. So GO AWAY!!! You may get back in here at some point, just like you have 4 or 5 times before, but you always out yourself some way. When you do, I will ban your ass again. So take the hint, no one wants you here.

I saw a post on Facebook about the game wardens check point. There was a wounded warrior hunt somewhere close and she was doing the processing for them Yep. It was Coffey Anderson (don't know him) and Stefan "Skyscraper" Struve. That guy is huge. Doing good things and basically be harassed.

From what I can gather this morning, they are "selling" it as an insurance/drivers license check. Game Wardens are there and if you have on camo or driving a truck, they start asking about deer. It's total Chuck Sykes BS. The fact that they are set up a mile from the processor where there's a big Wounded Warrior event going on tells you all you need to know

And so what if He stops someone and there's a deer in the back of the truck? So what? I suppose he would have probable cause to ask for a hunting license but game check allows 48 hours right? So he asks "have you reported with game check yet?" and I say "Nope. Anything else I can help you with officer? No? Very well, have a nice day." Harvest record. Yeah that's to be done on site before the animal is moved which he will see on my license when I give it to him. I don't know maybe I'm not understanding exactly what it is they are doing? harvest records are not required anymore right? If you have the Game Check app then no, but you will have to log your deer in before you move it.

I think they could justify that. When they ask for hunting license I will hand them my drivers license. Haybale had a whole different scenario. If you don't have a deer what they gonna do? Guess why they are targeting processor areas. I have actually been raising hell about something similar to this for some time now. The State Troopers setting up weight check points....on roads leading into the mills...and only checking log trucks. THATS BS!!!!!!! I see it EVERY week, sometimes multiple times a week.

I think I remember at your age you can show your drivers license. That proves age. My dad bought a license when he hit the age and if I remember it said it was good for the rest of his life. But I think there is something in there about seniors and a drivers license.

Well if people weren't on here and every other site telling how they are not going to follow the regulations they probably wouldn't be doing this kind of thing. Everyone wants to be an internet hero and claim they ain't following no stinking regulations no matter what. Do people really think officials don't see this? Everyone says they can't enforce it anyway but they can if they really want to and are proving it I guess. If I were to be one to break laws which in am not I dang sure wouldn't be posting all over the internet. I have to disagree with they can enforce it. If a person is smart (I KNOW, thats a stretch) the GWs would have to spend WAY too much time trying to catch one person. On the 3 buck limit a person would have to be checked 3 times (at least) in a season ad have killed a buck each day. How many people have been checked 3 times in 1 year?

Haha my dad had one turn around and pull him over today because he saw the four wheeler in the back of the truck. What a Goober! He was disappointed because my dad didn't have a deer. This wasn't even in the woods either it was on a state hwy. this ^^^ is not a legal stop, I'd raise hell about it.

one is not required to carry a hunting license with you at all times, tell em pound sand.
I got checked in New Mexico many years ago by a real asshole of a GW, we hadn't started hunting yet and were down the road getting water from a public well. No hunting clothes or guns. He asked for my hunting license, I replied I didn't know I had to have one to load water. He got huffy, I told him to pound sand. He left.

GWs can set up roadblocks, but the rules and restrictions are pretty well spelled out. I used some when I worked and they were a pain to set up and run, but it can be done legally.
Pretty sure setting up down the road from a processor won't be legal. Like setting up a roadblock just down the road from a bar..not legal according to the US Supreme court.

Was just wondering about the bar setup, Fred. That's been ruled illegal. This is exactly the same thing.
There is NO requirement to have a hunting license or "harvest" record on your person when you are not hunting. NONE. Driving down the road -- even with an ATV and hunting gear -- you are not hunting. You're driving down the dang road.
I hope someone hauls their asses into court about this BS.

The only reason they're still doing this is because no one has challenged them on it.
