How did you manage to blow yourself up?

I used to shoot commercial fireworks. Long story short, one that was supposed to be 500 feet in the air before going off, went off about head high on it's way back down from about 20 feet up because it had a very weak lift charge.

I am also a left handed shooter, my 2 main rifles are a T/C Encore, and a Ruger model 1. I love both. I learned to shoot with RH guns and never had a strong desire to get a LH, but I love the single shot rifles.

Right handed and left eye dominant / left handed shooter here. That includes bows, too. I shoot a hand gun right handed but cross the sights over to my left eye.

So, I buy left handed bows but right handed long guns. Anything else is weird to me.

I am left handed. I have owned two left handed rifles. An A-Bolt 7mag that I hated because it was heavy and the barell wasn to long. The other was a Ruger M77 30-06. Wish I had never traded that gun. It was a great shooting gun and I stupidly traded it on an Encore.

Other than that. I have always used a right handed gun. I have never had a problem working a right handed bolt.

Like others have said,I'm left handed and shoot left handed, but always got by fine with right handed guns. Two years ago I bought a left handed Tikka in .308 and stainless.I'm very happy with the accuracy and handling.Glad I finally made the switch. My son also shoots lefty so handing it down won't be a problem.

I handled a Savage weather warrior in 308 this week. It felt good in hand and I liked the look of it. I have a very generous offer to shoot a LH Tikka so I may take him up on that.

Now I'm going back and forth on whether to get a 308 or 7-08. Decisions, decisions....

doekiller, when I make up my mind on what to do, I will likely be selling my LH Ruger M77 MKII 30-06, or trading it for a scope. If you're interested, let me know and I'll give you first dibs on it. I bought it new about sometime in that past decade. I don't remember the year, but probably 6-10 years ago. I've killed several deer with it.

Shoot that Tikka. One thing I didn't like about the savage was the bladed accu trigger

I don't want a single shot and I don't want a Browning. No specific reasons, I just don't, and that's reason enough.

2Dogs, is the Tikka controlled feed or push feed? One of the first left handed rifles I ever bought was a mid 90's Savage. It was a long action 22-250. I HATED that rifle. The rounds just rolled around in the action while it closed. Piece of crap. Swore I'd never own another long action, short action gun. I'm sure the Tikkas are fine guns as much as they're talked about on here.

The Montana Rifle Co. action is a controlled round feed action if that is your preference.
