If you left him room to fish, screw him. You're in the right, legally and ethically.

My buddy's situation sounded different to me (the facts rarely get in the way of this guys best story's, though laugh ).

In his situation I would have started shooting fireworks from the dock, or skinny dipping (not both though :p ).

One misplaced letter in that sentence and you become an AlDeer legend.

Not advisable. Those treble hooks can be menacing and some of those guys can put a lure in a soup can from 30yds.

A buddy of mine has a good story about this situation. Last spring, he was shooting docks for crappie down near Waterfront when an irate property owner came down the dock to run him off. The guy was so pissed, he was cussing profusely and threatening to call the GW. About that time, he saw the GW putting in over at the ramp, so he jumped in his own boat and fled over there to get the GW's attention. My bud, who really didn't know what to do, decided to pack on up and head over to the ramp to ask the GW's opinion. When he got there, the angry property owner was leaving and giving him the bird. He had just got ticketed for having an expired boat registration. laugh lol. The GW told my friend that it was perfectly legal to fish around and under any dock as long as you don't tie up or step out onto the dock. CD.

If I roll out on the dock and there is someone there fishing it, that's fine with me! However, me and the kids are gonna be fishing all up and down it with minnows and bobbers. 99% of the time when we start fishing, folks just fish around us and leave. Courtesy on the water. Happens all the time. The guy in the boat can move around and we can't. Kinda like the people fishing the bridges at Guntersville. I fish around em.

Usually I'll tell em about the brush piles I have sunk out away from the dock so they can fish those on the way out......
