1966 - Davidson Arms sidexside double barrel 12 gauge. Got it that Christmas and was the only gun my Dad ever gave me. Not many deer back then. I was slipping through some hardwoods on New Years day and a spike walked up the hill in front of me. Had buckshot in one barrel and a slug in the other. First shot was the buckshot. Deer ran straight towards me and stopped and toppled over. I was so excited I shot him with the slug too just to be sure he didn't run off.

.44 Mag lever action marlin. Doe about 70yds away. I was maybe 12 or 13.

My parents' boss took me with him and his son. They'd taken me and my dad the day before (dad was never really into deer hunting) but he couldn't go the 2nd day due to my granddad having some health issues. So they said they'd take me themselves. Me, their boss and his son who's about my age got in a ground blind on a hardwood ridge between 2 pastures and nailed a doe traveling between the two.

I was 9. Single shot 243. Shot it as I was riding in bed of my dads truck going through a pecan orchard in Fitzpatrick.

Remington 1100 12 guage with buckshot. I was 17, Me and a buddy was "hunting" if you wanna call it that... we were walking the edge of a field with a creek that had thick privets on the edge, talking and burning a good one when this deer jumped up soon as we walked past. I had my 30-30 and hunter had the shotgun so we swap guns and i run in after her and hunter posts up in case she runs back out... i was walking and turn to tell him not to shoot me and she stands up not 10 yards from me when i turn my back to her. Hunter is yelling "there she is!!" I spin around and start letting the lead fly. Cant remember if i had 3 or 4 shells but on the last shot, she was broad side jumping across a trail and i knocked her down in mid air.

I don't remember the exact age, I'm guessing 9 or 10 "ish". Me and a buddy named Chris Robinson were walking in the woods behind my house and some house dogs ran deer in front of us, I had a .22 and just shot two times at the deer. None of them even acted hit (of course we wouldn't have known better anyway, LOL), and we found the deer by pure accident. We ran towards where they went and well I'll be dang, that's a dead deer right yonder!!! Small 6pt about 8" wide, had been hit between the eye and ear. 1 in a million odds! LOL

Funny enough, the 2nd deer I shot was about as flukey... My dad and I were running some traps, and while he was resetting one I walked over this little rise because I heard something moving around. I had a 20ga Remington 1100 with #1 buckshot in it (I don't even know why I had that gun with me?? Just as I crested the hill (not 15 yards from dad) there was a doe walking away from me in the road. I shot her bang-flop right there! Considering this was in the early/mid 80's I'm sure that was NOT legal! Heck, it might not have even been hunting season! LOL

Last year, a .270, don't know what kind. After sitting in a climber for a good portion of the day, we climbed down and started walking back to the truck, and saw it run buy. Grunted and stopped it, bang flop dead.

Old jm stamped marlin 30-30 nearly 30 years ago.

First deer was a 10 pt. with a BAR 30-06 scrub hunting along a branch on the last day of deer season just before dark. Lucky.

My first was a basket six, shot with a Remington 600 in .243 while still hunting in Dallas County. An afternoon hunt slipping down a big creek, take a few steps, watch and wait. Eventually our paths crossed.

.357 Marlin lever action, 6 years old o believe. Missed one the year before with a .410 and slugs at about 20yds.

Remington model 700 243, I was 7. I was sitting on a greenfield with my dad and 3 big does came out.

Doe using a 12 gauge. I slipped back into the woods after a drive and caught her coming back into the area.

My first was in in 2007. I went with my buddies on a hunting/camping trip in Crenshaw county. I was sitting in a groundblind on the edge of a hayfield and shot a doe with a borrowed 30-30. Of course they bloodied my face. I figure the budlight and the ol' Toyota really complete the picture.

My first was a spike shot with a 16 gauge H&R single shot (my father got it when he was 9 in the 1936) with Remington Peters buckshot. I was about 10 on a dog drive. I was the third stander to have gotten a shot at him. 40 or so years ago.

Don't remember the year. An old mossberg pump 12 Guage. Was squirrel hunting during deer season but I had buckshot with me. Had killed a few tree rats and I see a deer coming through the bottom, jammed a couple buckshot in and shot a 4pt. I guess I was around 16-17 at the time. I started deer hunting late. My dad never hunted deer, only small game and birds.

I was 13. Killed a button head with my Grand Dads Marlin 30-30. I was sitting in an old ladder stand. My Grand Dad gave me that 30-30. He has been gone for several years now. I wouldn't take a million bucks for that rifle.

Around 1968 shot one with an old Remington 11-48 with 00 buckshot.
