JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi authorities have arrested a man in the burning of an African-American church that was also spray-painted with the words, "Vote Trump."

Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesman Warren Strain says Andrew McClinton of Leland, Mississippi, who is African-American, is charged with first degree arson of a place of worship.

McClinton was arrested Wednesday. Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi, was burned and vandalized Nov. 1, a week before the presidential election.

It was not immediately clear whether McClinton is represented by an attorney.

Greenville is a Mississippi River port city of about 32,100 people, and about 78 percent of its residents are African-American.

After the fire, Hopewell congregants began worshipping in a chapel at predominantly white First Baptist Church of Greenville.

I remember the initial story coming out a few weeks ago as front page news.

I didn't even know about the followup involving the arrest until I heard it on a Conservative, talk radio show. Just a page 12 story now. Of course, if it was a white, Conservative arrested it would be back on the front page.

I'm pretty sure that blacks commit the majority of hate crimes and crimes in general, especially against their own race. No surprise here...

The vast majority of all the post and pre election "hate crimes" allegedly committed by Trump supporters against blacks and Muslims have proven to be either hoaxes or fake news. There were several incidents where Muslims said they were attacked and they were later arrested for making false police reports.

My wifes uncle was the sheriff of Washington county and lives in Greenville.He has a lot of good stories.

They use to have a huge truck show in Greenville called Showfest..It ended up getting shutdown because all the locals caused all kinda trouble at night.People had bottles,bricks,rocks all kinda stuff thrown at their $50- $100k show trucks just having a good time riding around at night and hanging out.It was a big big money maker for the city but the animals that live there ended up shutting it all down.Doesn't surprise me one bit it was a blackie from the congregation.Kinda going into the thinking of these "Christian" black folks..We done a job about 4 years ago for some black folks.Some of yall are probably familiar with what is called Brent Hill or The Hole over in Centreville.Well that is where we were.It is sho nuff the hood.Anyway the folks we worked for were really "religious"..While we were moving stuff outta one room we were working in a letter fell out on the floor.I picked it up and seen where the woman had wrote down her prayers...Know what she prayed for?Money..She prayed she would hit the lottery and win millions of dollars..She prayed for some other person who's name I'm not even gonna try to pronounce would win money and buy a buncha cars..I can't remember what else was wrote on it but it was material things not real life things you pray for..Just a little insight on how SOME of them are.

Dead I was living in Ga when that happened. I remember folks from all over the Country were sending cash to the mothers of the missing Children. It was LEo 's opinion that some of the kids were killed by their mothers so they could get in on the quick cash. that opinion was very unpopular and all investigations in that area were closed. his name was Wayne Williams. Not everyone was sure he had committed all the murders. I hate the hate crime Bs, murder is murder no matter what you call it, it can't get any worse. hate crimes like racism is only used when referring to a white person. I'm odd, I guess because I believe prayers are for more important matters. I don't agree with prayers for money, new cars or success hunting. More about life matters like death and illness. Too many trivialize it but praying for things that are their own fault or lack of character. I think it should be for things we have no control over, not working or being too lazy to do something is foolish to pray for.My ex-prayed thanks to the Lord because she ran out of gas in the driveway at home. She was too lazy to stop for gas, and claimed it was God looking out for her. Just my opinion, but I think her lazy azz was just lucky. God granted free will and is not a nanny to all the small matters in everyones life.

The preacher of the church purchased a nice new Lexus with all of the donations sent it.

LOL. My wife worked at a dry cleaners here in town a few years ago that gave free dry cleaning to Pastors. Nearly every street thug with gold teeth would declare that they were a, "Pastor".

They found some interesting things left in coat pockets.
