a simple horsechitt will do here....

When eating low fiber foods, yes about every 4 hours. Longer when eating foods that digest more slowly.

I hunted in 10" of snow back on in October. Hunting in snow is awesome, especially, at 9500'.

Ive tried a few times and only had luck when I was in the woods as it started to fall or the day it starts to melt off. The day/days in between I had to walk deer up to see much.

I've tried it twice and our deer absolutely hunker down. No movement at all. I think I'll sit this one out until Sat. or Sun. and stay home and eat my bread and drink my milk.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

One of the best hunts I have ever had was in Springville on a snowy day, bucks running everywhere. However the rut was in full swing, much like it is about to be in many counties in our state. The rut is the equalizer, i will be out there because it is better than work.

I think it was in 1973 there was a big snow storm, we had about 13" of snow in the Troy area. Me and a friend got in his old Datsun and slid/sloshed over west of Clayton just knowing we were going to kill a truck load. Damn near went blind out there in the bright sunshine and we never saw a deer.

Been my experience while it's snowing and about the first 4 hours after it stops they are wide open, rock and roll, then tend to lock down near a food source. If it's a "quiet" snow I like to put on a white cotton sweat suit and go slipping.

From my experiences, if it's a storm, snow, mixed with wind, they lay up for a while. But at some point they have to get up. Now just snow without wind man I've seen them go flat stupid. I shot the biggest buck I've ever seen on the hoof the morning after a snow storm. It was flat calm, cold and about 2-3 inches still on the ground. Regardless of what it's doing, you can't kill'em sitting on the couch.....

Ain't nothing finer than quiet woods with snow falling and the ground is white. Some deer move, some don't.

Only time I've hunted in any significant snow was about 25 years ago in Hale County. Snowed overnight and left about 3 inches on the ground. Every set of tracks I saw was heading into the thicket briar choked cutover. No movement during the day. They may have moved good while it was snowing overnight but they were locked down by the time the snow stopped. I think most deer in Alabama may live their entire lives without ever seeing snow and when it does occur they are scared and go to cover. JMHO.
